Best Poster to Answer

Nope. And since we’re nearing the 24-hour mark for my clue, I’ll just say that the question is a lot easier with a little knowledge of Greek mythology (or a good website on the subject).

We have a winnah!

Whee! I got one! bounces up and down

Here’s my clue;

A young ovine made of plastic blocks.

Legolamb?

Dagnabit, you weren’t supposed to get it so fast.
Hamish - Is the answer to your clue Cupid?

No.

Didn’t realize it’d be that hard. But you are getting warmer. I wouldn’t have used Greek mythology for a reference if the username hadn’t used it first

I was thinking along the line of the Cupid and Psyche myth, because supposedly he was a monster at night (even though he wasn’t). Well, I knew Cupid was the Roman name so that didn’t fit with the Greek mythology clue, but I didn’t see an Eros as a user name. I looked again and saw an Anteros but now I’m not sure how that fits with the “elope by day” clue so … maybe I will just quit while I’m behind.

Eros? No, neither Eros is who I’m thinking of, but you’ve never been closer.

Helios?

No. But its an interesting guess (I didn’t realize we had a poster named Helios), since Helios has the moon for a sister.

But I think when you’re eloping, it’s the parents you try to avoid. For that reason, this lover would have to use the cover of day.

Morpheus?

Nope, but another interesting answer. As king of dreams, I think Morpheus would be better poised to run away with someone at night than during the day.

(Of course, if Morpheus is the same god as Oneiros, then he’d be the child of Night (Nyx) herself, and might well run away during the day – but it still wasn’t the answer I was looking for)

As this point I wonder if I shouldn’t just post it. I think it has people too stumped. What do you guys think?

I’ll suggest another in its place: “Which bright poster stretches in two directions, till he disappears from sight?”

Erislover?

I’m probably way off, because I stink at these things.

Actually, you’re exactly right.

Eris is the child of the Night. If she and erislover eloped, going by night would be a bad idea

So obviously, you don’t suck at these things. I, on the other hand, seem to suck at giving clues.

Ethilrist, would you consider dropping another clue for us?

I’m still working on it but completely at a loss.

umm… running out of ideas for clues here…

she might also be the first initials of a department store…

or a god…

Summing up then for Ethilrist’s stumper:

The Question:
If you were just starting out and wanted help building leadership skills, who would you talk to?

The Hints:

  1. We don’t need no steenkin’ fezzes!
  2. Not the Rotarians, neither.
  3. It’s an acronym.
  4. The username has a hyphen in it
  5. It’s a she
  6. Might also be the first initials of a department store
  7. Or a god

Gonna lob out a softball while we puzzle… (It popped into my head on the train)

“Can someone explain this riddle to me: How can 6-5=4?”

Jay-C for Ethilrist’s.

DOH!!! :smack:
