Best sidekick?

Lucy had Ethel, Batman had Robin, Marshall Dillon had Chester and Festus.

Every good hero needs a sidekick. The sidekick may not be too bright, might not be real good in a fight, but he/she is always loyal. Sometimes (Rhoda Morganstern) the sidekick gets the best lines, but never the guy/girl.

So who’s the best sidekick. We’ll arbitrarily have one winner for TV, and another for movies.

My choice is clear. Good in a fight, stayed in the background but always there, sometimes provided a little comic relief. It has to be R2D2.

Mini-Me

Gabby Hayes

Dr. Watson of Sherlock Holmes

Noit’n.

If GIR’s not considered a sidekick, then I’m going with Arthur.

Short round of course!

Dr. Dre has Eminem, he traded Snoop Dogg.

Milhouse as “Radioactive Boy”

Kato

Dyna Girl.

Arthur from The Tick

He’s an accountant, his sister has a car she lets him borrow, he’s got a girlfriend, and he’s a moth, not a bunny.

TV or Movies??? You’re neglecting comic books??? Rick Jones wins hands down.

Ed Norton

Penfold.

Jane Lane

Barnacle Boy!

Penfold is an inspired choice bit I have to go with
(drumroll please)

S. Baldrick.

Barney Rubble.
