Best Smart Phone For Pokemon Go?

Hi all. I just trashed my pretty well used iPhone 5, so I’m in the market for a new phone. I’ve still got a way to go on my contract so it may have to be used second hand phone from the classified ads or something similar, but I digress. I’ve really got into playing Pokemon Go and want to keep playing. But which smartphones provide the best user experience for the game? I assume the bigger the screen the better. I’ve always been a bit of an Apple fanboy but would be willing to consider a swap to Android if it were to improve my overall Pokemon Go experience.

All thoughts and opinions appreciated.

I wouldn’t say the bigger the screen the better. I have an iPhone 6S and large hands and I have a hard time doing stuff one handed on this phone - like trying to toss Pokèballs. If I have to toss with just my thumb I always do it crooked because I can’t make the motion straight with my big phone.

Whatever has the best battery life, most reliable connection and fits nicely in your hand I say.

Battery life and anything the phone has to prevent overheating would be my two-cents.

Granted, I live in Florida, but I can’t play more than a half hour or so outside before my phone will shut down because it’s being overheated.

Thanks for the input guys. All valid and sensible points. I’m thinking a second hand iPhone 5 of some variety may be the way forward. At least then I know what I am getting having had one previously. Happy Pokemon catching guys!

I think the iPhone 7 might be going down in size. Would be good to get a cheap used 5 and then go to a 7 when its been out for a while.
