After watching nearly every episode through Netflix, I’ve come to realize that Phineas and Ferb is not only a great cartoon, but may have the most catchy songs of all time!
It doesn’t matter which episode - they’re all catchy as hell! Although my son and I have the Best of All Time from Phineas and Ferb (B.A.L.T.P.A.F., for short) narrowed down to “Squirrels in My Pants,” “Backyard Beach,” or “Floor After Floor.”
I love Come Home, Perry. My daughter always says “Hey Candace, why don’t you sing?” and makes me sing Candace’s part, so it’s a fun bonding moment for us. Her favorite song is the Fireside Girl song. And Busted, which is helping her spell… sorta. “B-T-U-D-E-S YOU’RE BUST-TED!”
My favourite episode is “Phineas and Ferb’s Quantum Boogaloo”, which features a cameo by Bowling for Soup drawn in as themselves, singing the seldom-heard (unless, like our family, you have the first soundtrack CD) second verse of “Today is Gonna Be a Great Day”, the Phineas and Ferb theme song:
Crossing the tundra
or building a rollercoaster,
skiing down a mountain of beans.
Devising a system for remembering everything
or synchronising submarines!
Racing chariots!
Taming tiger sharks!
Constructing a portal to Mars!
Building a time machine,
stretching a rubber tree,
or wailing away on guitars!
Ironically, the last three times I saw BFS shows (strangely enough, all three within the last two months), they sing the song only as it is in the show’s opening, and stop there.
I like all of Vanessa’s songs: “Busted”, “I’m Me”, “Not so Bad a Dad After All”, as well as the other songs that her voice actor sings (“I’m Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun” and “Ready for the Bettys”)
Oh, me too. “Like a ninja of love, rapelling down from above…”
Aside from that entire episode, I (Oh, I mean, my five-year-old-daughter) am another fan of “Squirrels in My Pants”, “Gitchee Gitchee Goo”, “Busted”, “Mom it’s your birthday”, and “Little Brothers”, and we also love “Queen of Mars”, but our all-time favourite musical moment is this. “Society’s a platypus!”
