Don’t see it that way. This is not someone pulling up a dead body (literally doing a body weight deadlift with one arm). Once oriented upright and a grip obtained on it quite a few fit people could pull themselves up the lanyard with no help from anyone. Never rope climb? The danglee pulling (likely) more than half his weight up with his other arm pulling himself up on the lanyard and is only looking for his rescuer to provide a point to secure to and maybe lifting less than half of body weight a few inches. Not saying it was well portrayed as being that way, but that is separate point than that in real life it would have been impossible.

To me it’s been as clear as day since the beginning. Clearly an additional pun on his use of a jewish name. So clear that I didn’t think it needed explaining…
It is however possible that the showmakers have since found out a bunch of people didn’t get the joke and did something about it…
