Great episode. Kim is similar to Skyler, but she is deliberately choosing to be with Jimmy. Skyler didn’t find out fully what was going on with Walt until things were much worse, and it would have been much harder for her to get away, since they were married and have kids. But it is interesting that Kim is choosing to stay with Jimmy at least so far. I half expected that when they got back to the car, she would tell Jimmy that they are done, that she won’t report him but she doesn’t want to do business with him. It will be interesting to see where she goes, because I could see splitting off and going to a better office or firm or something without Jimmy, or that being associated with Jimmy hurts her and she gets out of law.
It’s funny with Chuck that he seems to think so badly of Jimmy, that it’s easy for him to overlook bad behavior of others. It didn’t seem to occur to him that Kim or the copy guy knew the truth and were covering for Jimmy, he just seemed frustrated that Kim didn’t believe him and that the copy guy seemed inconsistent. I’m guessing with other cases he knows that sometimes people lie and he might notice that, but his feelings about Jimmy blind him here. It’s just like when Jimmy was a kid, Chuck’s disgust at Jimmy taking money from the till blinded him to that their dad was gullible and others were also taking advantage.
Also, I liked Jimmy’s conversation with the copy guy, in that it was somewhat true that this was just something between two brothers, or at least that’s how Jimmy sees it.
