Better Call Saul season 6

But also to show how far he will eventually climb as Saul Goodman. He’d gone from Jimmy McGill in the back of a nail salon to Saul Goodman with a literal golden toilet. What we saw of SG in Breaking Bad never really showed how much money there was in helping the various drug dealers and whatnot.

That’s what I thought while watching them packing. BB didn’t portray Jimmie as a golden throne kind of guy.

I thought the corpse in the kitchen was the grandmother. I honestly have no idea how Lalo is going to get the Lalo-lite corpse into position. The timeline seems to make it nearly impossible to get it into the family compound.

They hired a dance troup for that sequence:

I actually really liked it. Thought it looked very impressive and enjoyed the entire opening.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try with your insight.

That’s a bit of the problem for me. I’ve mentioned this before - and many/most disagree. ut my impression is that the makers put way too much effort on filming things in a way they think “cool” - without enough attention to how it advances the plot. Like I said, I got that they were clearing out Saul’s palatial digs. But I woulda preferred SOME hint as to who was doing the clearing and why.

Same w/ the ant/cousins. I got no idea why they spent that much time on that shot. And I forget who those guys are other than a coupe of badasses.

I also thought the kitchen corpse was a beloved house-keeper or something, thus the otherwise stony-faced twins looking visibly upset. I think previous flashbacks have shown the twins as kids with Hector Salamanca, so that was presumably something of a family home for them.

That said, I didn’t cotton on to using the moustache/soul-patch chap as a fake Lalo corpse, so am still foggy on how that worked.

On the other hand, I’ve always really liked that part of Breaking Bad and Better Caul Saul. They use really cool and interesting camera angels and shots. It actually makes me put down my phone and watch it through  .

“…put down my phone…”? You usually are messing w/ your phone while watching TV?

I thought it was pretty clear. I was to sell all of his stuff to pay restitution to the government.

90% of the time, yep.

You may be surprised how many people are watching TV while scrolling on their phones.

Yes. Hence the “no value” box that his notebook ended up in.

I know, right?? Kids these days!!

How was that clear? And if so, why wouldn’t they pack things more carefully to retain their value?

I guess it doesn’t surprise me. I’m long since surprised at how tied people are to their phones. But I guess it does impress me as a curious observation that TV producers have to go over and above to drag folks’ attention away from their phones. Sure - most of my TV watching/as well as my phone usage - doesn’t exactly command full attention. But I don’t get the attitude that I should intentionally and consistently pay less than full attention to whatever I choose to do at any given time.

Did it say “no value” or did you just assume that from the contents? Hell, I’m not fucking w/ my phone, and I missed that!

It had “no value” written on it with a sharpie.

He had fled into an alternative identity, the FEDs had shut him down, and the start of each season is usually sometime post Breaking Bad. I can’t see how it would be anyone else. Did you think he was moving house? I find it hard to find many other explanations for that scene.

And I doubt whoever is employed to asset strip a house of a known criminal for the government is going to pay particular care for anything. Do it fast, that’s probably the only real criteria they’ve got.

My sister has been buying some odd lots at government auctions the last few years, and an awful lot of them look like the boxes you see here. A bunch of stuff in a box, maybe something in there is worth something, worth a gamble for $20 or so.

Anything with obvious value like the artwork can be sold separately, but all those ties and shirts? Who’s going to try to price those individually? Toss it in a box, sell the whole lot, it’s all profit anyways.

OK - but wouldn’t something like that notebook have been confiscated as potential evidence? I didn’t see any signs that the place had previously been searched. Unless the cops were unusually neat in doing so.

I’m assuming the cops have processed the place. The job of this lot may be many months later, seizure of assets and disposal for whatever they can get.
