Besides, the whole point of that entire scene is to show how ridiculously wealthy Saul had gotten in like 5 years.
Dude. They are trying to tell a story. It’s not supposed to be a realistic documentary.
And doing a sloppy job of it, if so many people have so many questions about the basics of what the hell is going on. I don’t remember ever seeing so many people this puzzled over an “I Love Lucy” episode.
Admittedly I missed the killing the guy with the beard so they’d think it was Lalo thing but I got everything else. They do seem to be making this last season for the super fan whose rewatched and parsed each episode a dozen times. I manage to enjoy it as it happens and then read about what I missed from the Reddit nerds.
No, I think a lot of it is people over-analyzing things, thinking each tiny little detail is a massive plot point to be discovered. Sometimes a beat up cardboard box full of crap is just a beat up cardboard box full of crap.
Agreed. People aren’t even getting in the weeds about this over on reddit (the main over analyzing about that cold open is whether Kim would ever live in such a gaudy house, and what does that mean about her fate… you know, the usual).
I haven’t rewatched but I saw some people note that all the clothes in the closet were men’s. I think it’s pretty unlikely Kim was living there.
This guy speculates on some of the questions raised in this thread: possible spoilers
1983 St Elsewhere: “That’s Ed Begley’s kid?
2022 BCS “Yes, it really is!”
As well-crafted BCS and BB are/were, I wonder if things have moved on, what with Jan 6, Corona and Ukraine, etc. I know the drug war is far from over, but it’s not as hot an issue. Back in the 1990s every Tarantino-wannabe was an indie shoot-em-up about a young couple with a suitcase of drugs or cash in a trashy motel in the Southwest. These shows were way above that, but they are still of the same overworked genre.
Thank God for the Kettlemans though. People who think that because they’re white, middle-class church-goers, they can’t be criminals or even denied their ambitions in any way. That’s still relevant as Hell.
Oh there were definitely women’s clothes they were moving out (already wrapped and being wheeled), but I don’t think Kim would wear leopard print.
Figured out my problem viewing the show. (DUH!). In the 6-7 years since the last season ;), we gave up cable. Amazon Prime has the 1st 5 season, and Netflix has S6,1 only. Apparently the rest is avail on AMC+, which we could get free for 1 week, then pay for.
Wife and I agreed we did not care enough about this show anymore to go thru the effort/expense.
All of the first 5 seasons are on Netflix- I know because I binged all of them in the past month to get ready for S6 which for now is only on AMC+. I don’t love that channel but I did get a deal on it for $20 for a year.
You can purchase Season 6 on Amazon Prime.
Yeah. We already pay for Prime, Apple, Netflix. A good part of the reason for cutting cable was to lower costs. Plenty of garbage on those 3 to waste time on while I mess around on my phone!
At some point, we might put more effort into switching among streamers.
I guess I must have been unclear.
What makes you think I was talking to you?
If you have cable, see if you can find it On Demand. If you only have streaming, then that’s not going to be much help.
(I frequently forget about On Demand as an option. A show my wife and I were watching a couple weeks ago got completely interrupted by severe weather coverage. We were able to watch it the next night when I remembered to check On Demand.)
Anyone have thoughts on the opening sequence of the people packing up Saul’s house being in colour, as opposed to usual sequences being in black and white?
My guess is the b&w sequences with Saul/Gene takes place many years in the future.
As per why they were packing up Saul’s house I just assumed it was after he left town (as Gene), and “the Law” was there seizing all assets to auction off because they were ill begotten gains.

Count me among those who can’t get over the charred Lälogänger showing up at the hacienda with absolutely no attempt to explain how it got there. I’m not usually one to pick nits over the plotting, but it just doesn’t make any sense at all.
What is the theoretical timeline of the fake Lalo body?
- Next morning Lalo shows up at the house, kills the two people, drives the body back to the compound, and lights it on fire
- Police arrive later in the day.
- Police cannot determine that the time of death for the one body is like 6 hours later than the rest of them.
I guess you just need an explanation as to why they’re slow? Cartel place, so they ignore most gunshots? Only show up if called?
It feels like a dumb plot point, but I can hand wave it. Having to hand wave things in BCS and BB is a shame though since it’s so rare.
