Had you asked me anytime during Season 1, it probably would have been a “Meh, Peggy, I guess.” Now it’s definitely Joan. Treat her like she deserves to be treated and you’d wonder why God bothered creating other women in the first place.
Man, that’s a tough choice. Betty’s a beauty with an awesome figure, but she has a terrible attitude. Joan’s got the voluptuous thing going but she seems like she’d be a dom, and I’m not usually into the submissive thing. But she also has the ‘sex kitten’ appeal. I think she’d rock my world but would then tie me to the bed and beat me. Peggy seems like she’s open for anything and has an insatiable itch that needs scratching, so that’d be a no-holes-barred type of evening.
If we’re talking choosing one for all time, I’d go with Betty. But if we’re talking a one-time thing, I’ll go with Joan, but I’d be thinking about Peggy.
I voted for Other - Helen Bishop - the single mother whose son has a thing for Betty. She seems the most interesting - what little we’ve seen of her. Betty’s too much work. Joan has her moments both good and bad and I do have a soft spot for a girl that can play the accordion. She gets 2nd place. Peggy doesn’t seem to have a core I can hang a hat on. I guess out of the 3 regulars I’d pick Joan but overall I’d pick Helen Bishop.
And how exactly is that bad?
Betty is childish and one day going to go shotgun-crazy. Er, I suppose even shotgun-crazier is more appropriate. Peggy annoyed me to no end with her “Holier than thou” attitude in S1 and, while she’s dropped some of it, hasn’t actually done anything to redeem herself either. So it’s Joan by default although she would have won even if the others weren’t so flawed.
Out of the 2nd tier characters, I’d agree with Rachel Menken.

Based on the poll results, its seems as though most of us are going to the *special *hell.
I voted for Betty but I think my series favorite so far was the young girl (Joy?) that Don met in L.A.
I have to second River Hippie, he said it before I got to it. But if I have to choose from the three principles, I’d go with Joan. At least she seems to know how to use birth control. 
Joan. a) she’s incredibly hot, and b) I would love rubbing it in the faces of the guys whose trophy-doormat she used to be that she’s with a balding beta-male copywriter who treats her like a goddess.
