You can apply any criteria you wish when making your choice. Don’t ask why you have to choose; the “why” is entirely up to you.
You can’t choose both of them, so don’t even try to tell me that you’re “poly,” or that you’d marry Veronica and see Betty on the side. You can only pick one, and your choice is irrevocable.
If you are unable or unwilling to choose, please explain your reason. Unless it’s “they’re exactly alike except for their hair”—that’s a stupid reason.
See, this is like the mythological Judgement of Paris, except that there’s no golden apple and the stakes are MUCH higher. Zeus commands you to choose Betty or Veronica, so stop your lollygagging and get to it.
If you don’t know who Betty and Veronica are, I question your patriotism.
Oh, granted, I can’t marry one and see the other on the side, because my choice is irrevocable; but I betcha Veronica would be seeing someone on the side in a matter of weeks, if her choice ain’t irrevocable. She’s not, y’know, Betty.
Well, clearly, if you’re gonna go down that road you’d marry Betty and see Veronica on the side.
Barring that, Betty.
I haven’t really kept up how the characters are portrayed these days. Heck, I didn’t even read the comics back in the day, only knew Betty and Veronica by their stereotypes. Do they have any personality or interests of their own, aside from chasing after Archiekins?
I knew that this issue would probably come up, but I wanted the poll options to be as simple as possible. Veronica and Betty represent yin and yang, the essential duality of the universe, so all reasons for choosing are equally valid.
The only advantage that Veronica has over Betty is that she’s filthy rich. So… Betty gets richer at night?
And granted that my choice is irrevocable, but do the ladies know that? Because it seems to me that, if I choose Betty, Veronica might still shower me with gifts to try to win me away, which is sort of a best-of-both-worlds.
With all due respect to DeCarlo (who is my point of reference here, I don’t care about newfangled television shows or comic reboots), Betty & Veronica are physically identical aside from their hair. I may as well go for money and pick Veronica.
This isn’t to discount personality but then Veronica always seemed sweet enough to Archie when he was in her crosshairs and not pissing her off by dating Betty.
Of course black hair with blue highlights pretty much doesn’t exist outside the world of comics. So, the choice isn’t strictly between blonde and brunette/raven.
Come to think of it, bright yellow hair barely exists either.
