I have a sinus infection (again) and have been on Augmentin since the 1st. I realized it came back :rolleyes: :mad: and called my doctor today about it. He said he didn’t need to see me, but phoned in some Biaxin, which I’d never taken before. I took the first tablet around 4pm, and I swear I already feel better. My main symptoms have been facial numbness and some tooth pain.
I sure hope so, because I really hate this. Anyone else had a similar experience?
Might be placebo effect, might be that the sinus infection was already abating, might be the antibiotics. Usually it takes a day or two for me to tell that an antibiotic is taking effect (and several more days for digestion problems to kick in!) Just make sure you finish the course of treatment, of course.
Haven’t had Biaxin in nearly 15 years… does it still have a tasty vanilla coating?

I’ve had a staph infection that was caught really early and it seemed like the first antibiotic dose knocked it out.
I’ve also had it where I thought I was getting a bug and it went away the next day without any treatment. Though never in a few hours.
