Biden campaign bus, cars driven by staffers attacked on highway

I do not think you understand the meaning of that word.

Vanilla ISIS is another term I’ve heard/used.

Republican terrorists threaten another peaceful assembly.

Do you have a cite for that?

In a Kennedy’s time, state-sponsored terrorism, lynchings, and outright white supremacist governments had so much power that individual campaign buses didn’t need to be terrorised. Also, the south hadn’t yet fully turned against the Democratic Party. Both parties had both liberals and conservatives, so it would have been a more complicated matter to harass the Democratic presidential campaign.

In W.J. Clinton’s time, there was a lot of transition and a lot of conservatives still believed that the Republicans had a permanent lock on the presidency. It was a surprise to a lot of people that Clinton survived so many scandals and best a war president.

What does it mean, “best a war President”?
Quit hitting on the South. Racisim is everywhere.

Likely meant “bested a wartime President”.

Yep, absolutely. Show me white supremacists who belong to any other party? That doesnt mean everyone in the GOP is a white supremacist, just that pretty much, all of them are MAGA hat wearers. And trump openly supports them and eggs them on, so if you vote for trump, you are supporting white supremacists.

Dems have their crazy supporters too, just not so violent.

G.H.W. Bush believed that the first Iraq war would guarantee his re-election.

I’m not “hitting on the South.” I’m describing facts. Conservatives didn’t attack Kennedy because Kennedy ran while many Southern conservatives were still Democrats. It’s only after they became Republicans that opened up the possibility of directly attacking a national candidate’s campaign bus.

“Racism is everywhere,” sure, but Southerners are fooling themselves if they think that protects them from the fact that the South was for a century a collection of outright white supremacist states that used official and unofficial murder and violence to maintain its minority hold on power.

And it’s no coincidence that things like attacks on the Biden-Harris campaign bus start in places like Texas.

It’s very possible that Texas is already a blue state but the Republicans are clinging on to minority rule through intimidation, corruption, gerrymandering, and massive judicial and extra-judicial disenfranchisement. It’s a terrorist state at this point.

Racism Is everywhere. Jeesh. Does that help you sleep at night?

Biden already did.

Trump hasnt, in fact he eggs them on.

No cite, as it’s not true; it’s delusional.

Are you honestly unaware of Jim Crow laws and Southern poll taxes?

Not just in the South.

A poll tax is a tax as a fixed sum on every liable individual. Although often associated with states of the former Confederate States of America, poll taxes were also in place in some northern and western states, including California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Wisconsin.[1]

To suppress black voting?

Here is Don Jr. encouraging the terrorist attack before it happened.

And here is the leader of the GOP praising the terrorists after the attack.

Trump is going to declare yeehad tonight. Count on it.

DC will be his MAGAdishu.

I’m commending the driver and passengers of that bus for their restraint. We’ve been watching the footage and the male members of my family suggested that there might have been some “interesting optics” if the driver of that bus had just stepped on the gas, plowed through a couple of those trucks and given the rest of them a run for their money.

It would’ve been really easy, and they could’ve claimed that they were just doing their part as good citizens to enforce the minimum speed limit and keep traffic moving. Law and Order, you know.

The harassment by the violence-prone Trump contingent was a horrible calculation on their part, I think. It’s the kind of thing that might cause some still undecided voters to break for Biden. Similarly, if you are standing in line to vote tomorrow, having decided to vote for Trump because you want lower taxes even though you have a problem with his tweeting and cult-like supporters -after a couple of hours of being harassed by a caravan of Trump supporters circling the block, you might change your mind.

I just don’t know any more. Their ability to ignore all the evidence that Trump is something new and unusual is unreal to me.

Yesterday I asked my mom how she felt about this. She pointed out that Biden flip-flopped on fracking. I asked her why she thought there was any comparison between the two. She said that she wasn’t comparing the two. I countered that bringing up Biden’s flip-flopping as a counterargument to Trump’s cheering on violence was, by definition, a comparison. She changed the subject.

I just don’t get it. She’s not an irrational person in other ways. But when it comes to this topic…

Well, I don’t think anyone can dispute at least that.
