Presidential Motorcade almost hit by vehicle in Springfield, MO [edited title]

YouTube: Vehicle attempts to ram Presidential Motorcade in Springfield, MO

This whole situation is rather bizarre. I’m quite surprised at the rather muted response by the Secret Service.

ETA: the exciting part is at 1:15 in the video.

"Springfield police said the woman’s brakes malfunctioned as she was coming out of the Bass Pro call center and warehouse on Kearney St. "

Poor lady - bet it was brown trousers time for them!

It surprised me that it took such a relatively long time for a vehicle to react to the car. It was over twenty seconds after the car came out of the woods and on to the road before a vehicle pulled out of the formation. I would have thought the response would have been almost immediate.

“Attempts to ram”? She accidentally drove into the opposite ditch from a parallell road and the car stopped immediately, in the ditch, parallell to the road.

It’s an amazing coincidence, but the title of the video is just stupid.

There is an immediate response. One of the vehicles pulls slightly further out of the motorcade and passes the already stopped vehicle. They probably radioed back to get someone else to take a proper look.

Now it is possible of course that they screwed up, it’s also possible that they have rules of operation telling them to keep the motorcade running. You don’t want to have every drop of a leaf along the route split off part of the president’s protection.

Click bait nonsense.

I also attempted to ram the motorcade when leaving my driveway in KC yesterday morning. This woman got much closer than I did, obviously.

They were drawing straws.

Any bets on if the lamestream media will cover this obvious violent antifa attack???

One of my cousins used to work on Reagan’s limo back in the 80s. Even then, that woman’s stock sedan wouldn’t even scratch the paint on that thing.

2 things I got out of this story.

First, wow, there’s alot of cars in the motorcade.

Second, looking at the links on the side, with titles like “Warning: Vehicle attempts to ram presidential motorcade”, or “Man FLYS OUT OF WOODS To CRASH TRUMP’S MOTORCADE”, or “Car Attempts to Ram into Trump Motorcade.” or “BREAKING: Did the alt-left just try to assassinate Trump?” or “Trump assassination attempt? to ram Trump’s Presidential”, and so on, tells me that there are a few people out there that really do fall for fake news, and then pass it on onto their social media site of their choice.

A more appropriate title should be “Woman shits herself when she loses control over her car near the presidential motorcade.” as the current title of the thread is pretty far from accurate.

A common tactic in Iraq was to drive suicide VBIEDs into convoys. Fender benders aren’t their big concern.

They probably had to first check whether reacting would put them over the overtime cap.

Sure. Last night my lamestream local TV station showed the attack in all its video glory. You don’t waste exciting video like a car getting stuck in a drainage ditch just because you have a liberal agenda!

A few years back UK PM David Cameron was standing on the sidewalk with his security detail when a passing jogger jogged right into him. The jogger was immediately grabbed and pulled aside, but it turned out he hadn’t had any idea who he’d run into up to that point - he was just trying to get through the crowd of people in his path.

Sometimes accidents happen, even in the vicinity of important people.

I blame Obama.

I just copied the title from YouTube. I thought the video was interesting.

Why, when you knew it was misleading? What was the point?

I imagine it’s all planned out. The vehicle with the President keeps moving away from the scene. And most of the escort vehicles remain with the convoy. I’m sure there are specific vehicles that are designated to stop and respond to any significant incidents that occur along the route. I was just surprised that it took that long for the response vehicle to stop.

But you are correct. There was another vehicle which responded earlier by pulling out of formation into the other lane but not stopping. I’m guessing their role was to act as a shield for the President’s vehicle.
