When I saw the thread title that you posted, I thought it was a real thing. That someone had actually done something incredibly stupid. I was prepared to excoriate someone “on my side” for engaging in activity that I am strongly against.
It was only after I clicked through the link, and saw what actually happened that I found the thread title to be misleading.
Many people do not have that level of dedication to the truth, and will simply pass it on, cut and paste style, or they will keep that impression in mind when they watch the video, coloring their perception of events. They may think that there is more to the story than just the video, that foll-up investigation discovered that this actually was a plot or some sort of attack. They may repost with even more dishonest titles like “Assassination Attempt”, causing even more people to be poorly informed.
You can always count on the real news to give you accurate coverage.

She’s a hero. She was trying to save the President from falling into the ditch by blocking it with her own (car) body.

Completely agree. I also thought it was a real thing - and yes, in event of attack, my first thought was of terrorism, either motivated by left wing ideology or Islam. I was wondering why I hadn’t seen it in headlines everywhere (was just on another political news forum). I find this headline for this topic, when the OP knew it was incorrect to deceptive and irresponsible. It’s clickbait, certainly, but worse than that, given the subject matter, that the text of the post doesn’t clarify what actually happened, and that there’s not even an ad-dollars profit motive for the OP.

Yeah, I was fooled, too. I actually had been thinking about something like this happening in a “what-if” scenario when I heard Trump was coming to my neck of the woods. (Imagine hatred of Trump mixed with “hold my beer” level of good ideas.) Throw in using the method used by that Nazi terrorist, and I was thinking “Wow, someone was actually stupid enough to do it!”
On Reddit, this type of post would get tagged with “[Misleading Title]” pretty quickly, even on subreddits where you’re supposed to copy the title of the video. And it wouldn’t matter who reported it.
They even did it to that Joel Osteen thing, because they believed his side of the story–though it’s now clearly false, since he keeps changing it. Now it’s “because no one asked us.”
Edit: I guess you could argue that the vehicle was sentient and only failed because it wanted to stop Trump. That would make it a silly headline.
I have edited the title to make it less misleading. “Attempts to ram” is literally false info and makes it sound deliberate. Please don’t make news stories sound more exaggerated or misleading just to get people to click on them.
