As a queasy voter who has been arguing the case here that he should step down, I’ll disagree.
These last two have gone a long way to settle me. I’m not yet sure that he has the stamina needed, and his hole is still deep, but the Biden that fielded questions at the press conference, and who worked the room at the rally, has a very realistic chance of building some momentum at the convention and riding it to November.
I hope they keep that doppelgänger who showed up at the debate locked in the attic though! He gets out and about again and we are doomed!!!
Those are standard Biden misspeaks that he’s done since forever. Very seriously they don’t worry me. He held court to a variety of questions on complex subjects fluidly and lucidly for something like a hour. And over 20 million people tuned to watch him do it.
If any of us were going to worry about them then we shouldn’t have run him last time. Time ran an article on his top ten gaffes back when he was VP 18 years ago. They are part and parcel of who he is, a known aspect. The debate was different than that.

“Despite my disagreements with him on particular issues, he has been the most effective president in the modern history of our country and is the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump – a demagogue and pathological liar,” Sanders wrote.
“It’s time to learn a lesson from the progressive and centrist forces in France who, despite profound political differences, came together this week to soundly defeat rightwing extremism.”
There’s a difference between speaking to a supportive crowd at one of your own rallies, and facing off against Donald Trump one to one with no audience beyond the questioners. Trump did fine under those conditions, because he’s a bullshit artist anyway, while Biden caved under the pressure. This would be closer to a real world condition. It’s Biden under pressure we’re concerned about.
To answer seriously, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion. It’s a catch-all term for programs that seek to promote the above. One of the far right’s latest hatreds.

Who the hell cares? In a thread where we’re discussing what aspects of Biden’s condition and performance may or may not be relevant to his electability, we’re now going to digress into whether he’s had hair transplants or cosmetic treatments?
If that’s to be the criterion, then it has be compared with Trump who’s basically a spray-painted plastic figure with the pelt of an orange marmoset glued to the top.
It’s not really going to work in favor of Biden the second time. It was not temporary, just the weak voice. He is going to panic again in a 2minute and 1 minute format. So they will just have to take the bad press from canceling. Lesser loss. If there is anyone in charge at all, they will talk him out of this. “Do you want to win in November, Joe? Yes. Then, you cannot do the dbate.”
No, because that isn’t a poll, it’s the result of a simulation based on both polls and an assortment of assumptions that may or may not have any validity. The actual polls cited – every single one – show Biden trailing. Even if the optimistic adjustments in the simulation are valid, Biden is ahead of the convicted felon by a razor-thin margin.
