ETA: Guin, I don’t see the right making a big deal of it. The vast majority will just point and laugh just like the left did when Bush had a similar mic moment. (Bush was caught on audio calling a NY Times Reporter a “major league asshole”)

I’m convinced that Twitter was popularized through some sort of organized PR campaign. It’s a trivial, banal website. Sometime maybe a couple years ago, I saw a bunch of news stories in a short period about how “everyone’s talking about Twitter.” I never actually heard anybody talk about Twitter, I just heard news stories about people talking about it. Am I out of the loop? Was anybody talking about Twitter before they ran news stories about people talking about Twitter?
I’ve never once had any conversation of any length with anyone about Twitter. Not one person I know in real life has talked about it. At all.
That being said, I do read Conan’s tweet page because it’s fucking hilarious.

…nah, I got nothing. Timing was poor, but (a) Biden has a reputation for gaffes, and (b) on the significance scale, this ranks below Desiree Rogers but arguably above what name the First Pet was given. Who, in other words, really cares?
