I think he’s got the energy but he does best with crib notes. That’s his strength. It sounds like he was over prepped and it’s not in his nature to cough up talking points without some ques to work with. This would be the fault of the people prepping him.

I can’t believe how fucking weakly the democrats message around Jan 6. They had a whole fucking false electors plan! They had a fucking plan to conduct a coup with legal fictions and collaborators and suppression of law enforcement and the democrats are so fucking feeble on calling it out as a violent insurrection attempt. This is such a fucking easy messaging war to win and they’re so bad at it.
It’s style that gets the votes because too many voters don’t/won’t understand the substance.
Adding to it Biden is not going to respond in kind to trumps invective because he’s a normal human being.

To those panicking that Biden is doing bad; the election isn’t tomorrow. I’m not sure this is the only debate. And Trump’s sentencing is coming up soon. This might just be a footnote in the story of this election.
As I said in another thread, I think after this debate a lot of folks will be changing their opinions on whether debates still matter.
