Some people may engage in hyperbole and say that, but a president who spent one minute as president is not going to get more than a footnote in a history book. Biden probably has that honor taken care of, as will probably get mentioned for the “Obama and Biden memes” the same way presidential pets and other cute stories get a brief mention. If he wants to actually go down in history as more than a condescending footnote, he needs to actually do something , and I strongly suspect that’s what he wants to do with
Aside from that, I think a lot of Democrats would be unhappy with him rejecting the job that the voters elected him to do, thus removing the public image of a mandate that will (hopefully) accompany the election results, and undercutting the legitimacy of any reforms that they attempt. They’d also be unhappy that he made the first female president illigitimate in the eyes of the public, as she wouldn’t have won the election, and she’d probably be unhappy that he left her with a job that his resignation just made much, much harder.

### Candidacy criteria
The candidates eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize are those persons or organizations nominated by qualified individuals, see above. A nomination for yourself will not be taken into consideration.
A Nom for one of the Science prizes is a great honor. A Nom for the peace prize is meaningless. One professor nominated several men on Death row as a protest vs the death penalty.
