The only truly and completely unbelievable bit for me is that Leonard would certainly have thrown Raj bodily out of the hotel room . . . through the window if necessary.
Why wouldn’t he just tell him to go sleep with Howard, thus completing the circle? It still would have interrupted the moment enough for story purposes.
Brilliant! And that would have (aphasia strikes - not validated or emphasized, but something like that) the pseudo-homosexual relationship they have.
The one Pete Seeger wrote, you mean?
When they said that at the beginning of the episode, I assumed they would all be at the same conference (plausible, but stretching it), not all on the same panel which was just ridiculous.
I think there was a potential for a good episode somewhere there that never got realized. Instead it reminded people of the Frasier ski lodge episode but nowhere near as funny.
Reinforced.
Many thanks. I hate it when I get a brain cramp.
Hmmm, the one that came to my mind was by Monty Python. But I guess that’s more about how nice it is to have one as opposed to how nice it would be to have one.
From Penis Envy by Uncle Bonsai. Lyrics here; might be downloadable somewhere if you search.
The one I was thinking of was written to convey more of a sense of wistful ambition than a sense of pride at already possessing a penis.
You know, in almost five decades of spinning around the sun, I never noticed how oddly incredibly hot Mary Travers was.
You obviously don’t remember the episode where Sheldon and Leonard were presenting a paper they co-wrote. The one where they were rolling around on the floor wrestling and Sheldon tried to make Leonard’s head explode.
Or the one where Sheldon got drunk, sang Tom Lehrer, and mooned the entire faculty at the Chancellor’s Award dinner.
Hey, you guys citing similar episodes from earlier seasons, cut that shit out. Didn’t you get the memo? On the SDMB, every earlier season of a sitcom is a slice of perfection, while every episode of the current season is at best a pale shadow of former seasons’ glory, but more likely just complete shit. This rule applies to all sitcoms, with no deviation possible.
Get with the program.
So the take-away is I have to pretend to like very episode, even when one doesn’t work for me? I’m always confused by the rules.
Maybe we need to state in the OP each time: Only post an opinion if you agree!
I liked this episode a lot, especially after the really bad one last week with the iPhone app. This was classic hijinks, and the implausibility of them all being on the same panel didn’t bother me a bit, since this is TV land.
It’s cool that not everyone enjoyed this episode as much as I did - I’m still glad the show is on TV at all .
Still amazed such a clever show was created by the same folks who foisted 3 1/2 men on the world. what a slimy, misogynistic turd that is. Big Bang has its naughty bits but also has geekery, and interesting fun characters, unlike the aforemenitoned turd.
No, I guess what I’m saying is that you can’t compare the currents eason unfavorably to previous seasons (which you didn’t specifically do) since that’s the most played out nerd-cliche in existance, and you also can’t complain about how unrealistic a situation is if the sitcom has consistently used similar situations for years. (Complaining about unrealistic situations has implications of “It was so good back in the day; why is it so broad now?”)
