Big Bang Theory 1/12--The Shiny Trinket Maneuver

OK, OK. Has eveybody missed the all-important fact that Amy kissed Sheldon, and he didn’t immediately have a screaming cootie fit? I mean, yes, he wasn’t thrilled by it, but his response was surprisingly un-Sheldonian.

We’ve been here before with the Howard/Bernadette money dynamic. Remember “I just want my Honey to have nice things?” I don’t recall them really resolving that? They just sort of fell apart and then fell back together again.

It was him. A good place to check cast listings immediately after broadcast is TV.com.

I have a little problem with Howard not making more money than everyone else. He has a MS in Computer Science from MIT. I usually make more than all the Phd’s in the room.

I watched the whole thing twice as well. It was pretty funny and very Amy.

It’s not listed on IMDB (yet), but he is listed as a writer on Blossom.

they are officially dating now, it must be in the agreement the circumstances under which it can happen. if it isn’t in the agreement then it will get brought up in the future as either a addendum or a major complaint.

I thought that whole bit with Bernadette and no kids was hilarious. Bernadette clearly doesn’t like kids.

That’s just it, now they are a couple (they even have a dating agreement) so she probably thought he may be changing a bit as they’ve actually kissed and danced and stuff.

I’m in the same boat. I’m finding that it’s a great series.

I’m going to watch the reruns and the new eps…

I’m fairly well certain that I recall the agreement saying something along the lines of “the current level of physical intimacy - to wit: None - shall remain in force.”

or something. . . :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not so sure about that. She is dating Howard after all.

Yeah, the more we learn about Bernadette, the less “normal” she seems. But I like that. She can hold her own with any of the cast.

I also like that they didn’t really resolve the Kid issue. The sit-commy thing to do would be for Bernadette to get to know one of the kids, who melts her heart and she changes her mind and blah blah blah… But instead she and Howard agreed on a half-hearted compromise that makes neither of them happy. This ensures that the subject will come up again, which makes for good comedic fodder. It also makes them a more relatable couple; real couples actually do struggle with this question, and it doesn’t get resolved in 22 minutes.

Bernadette and Howard have issues which could fall either way, this may last a long time for effect.

kids, who wears the pants, mom, the only one he’s had serous or long term.

there is likely somewhere where some nerd/fan/geek has transcribed all the agreements so far. and the violations of them and the resolutions.

also the equations from some of the episodes which are stated to be real and purposeful.

my fandom hasn’t reached a level to chase for that, yet.

I’m ok with sitcom characters changing, stasis is dull, but I think it’s getting increasing difficult for Jim Parsons not to break character when dealing with AFF.

I agree totally. When Crista Miller left “The Drew Carey Show”, it was when Kate and Drew realized they differed on having kids.

They never said that. They said Howard doesn’t make as much as Bernadette. They’ve never, to my knowledge, directly compared Howard’s salary to Leonard’s or Sheldon’s.

But Howard works for the university. In academia, an MS doesn’t mean squat. (In industry, a PhD doesn’t mean squat.)

Not with that voice . . .

And not with her engagement to Howard . . .

And not with her getting along with Howard’s mother . . .

She only appears to be normal when compared with most of the other characters. Hell, even I’d seem normal, compared to them.

According to IMDB he was also on several episodes of Blossom.

ETA: or maybe he wrote several episodes of Blossom?
