in this thread that would be Bazinga!
Ya, but radiation didn’t do it on purpose, SHE was the one who kept at it.
I expect they will have an incident where the two of them are forced to sleep in a double bed together (perhaps they get stranded in a motel room with only one bed) and then for Sheldon to decide he likes it and Amy decides to dump the asshole.
I’m pretty tired of AFF anyway. They have failed to develop her character very much. She is just a single dimensional joke, IMHO.
I’m also tired of Bernadette. Her shtick has just gotten stupid. Her angry voice has been way over-done. I’d like to see H&B get divorced and Howard take the vet away from Raj (who doesn’t really deserve a gf anyway) and we could have some shows with conflict between Raj & Howard.
I wouldn’t mind if they got rid of the Raj character. He’s never been much fun anyway.
Perhaps you should watch a different show.
As I remembered it, he “borrowed” the robot hand from JPL. And he was working on a sex robot.
I want to see more of the train guy.
“Did I tell you what happened when I worked at UPS?”
I didn’t care for the fact they made him legitimately brain-damaged.
Still, without that he was more amusing than most of them. Except for Bawwy, who deserves his own show.
I agree on Bernadette, it seems now that most everything out of her mouth is condescending and angry. It wears on you at times.
There’s a bit too much drama with Bernadette and the constant AFF frustration with Sheldon and throw in the whole Penny dumping on Leonard and this sit-com has gotten somewhat serious. Plus here we are again with Raj and a putative girlfriend and wondering if it’ll run out and not develop, we’ve been here before with Raj.
that’s why to me this show has lost much of it’s humor, when was the last time Howard had a great one-liner? He was often the funniest character in seasons past and I just don’t recall him being memorable this year. It’s like he’s brow beat by marriage.
come to think of it, both Howard and Leonard are not treated well by their partners.
character development - the Achilles heal of sit-coms.
where there’s Howard there is the frustrated female. been that way forever.
i think it OK how Bernie can do both the clever and frustrated. she has maybe the funniest lines/situations from the show.
Aren’t most of the women in Chuck Lorre shows rather hateful? I think he has had problems with every female in his life, and has a strong misogynistic streak.
Not every woman; just mothers.
And they’re both involved with women who are unfathomably out of their respective leagues. Especially Howard. That whip has a mighty long reach, son.
If Sheldon were a real person and became a member of this board, would he be banned?
Are the men any better; seems they’re all emotionally, intellectually, and/or socially stunted to some degree.
If it bothers you that people have largely negative opinions about certain shows, then perhaps you might consider posting in a different forum. Or, perhaps you might enjoy an activity where you don’t have to read anyone else’s opinions at all.
When people see unhappiness, they want to help. It’s an ingrained instinct. People want to solve everyone else’s problems.
You seemed to have a problem with BBT. But it is perhaps we who have the problem. Either way, carry on with your bad self!
so that makes it o.k. to be treated like that?
I’m just saying after a certain point, on a sit-com no less, it becomes tiresome and predictable and not so funny.
It’s their decision to make, not ours.
My guess is that he had all the problems with women that he would ever need stemming from the time he worked with Roseanne.
I read a few items that suggested it would probably be easier to live through combat than it would working for Roseanne.
I can certainly understand why he would feel that way about women after working for Roseanne.
Well, I loved the kiss, but then, I guess, I am a real sucker for a big surprise kiss. I wondered how many times they practiced that! I absolutely enjoyed it, but I know the writers have their work cut out for them. How are they going to make Sheldon feel real feelings and how is it going to be funny??
I am sorry to say that this was the second episode in a row that I didn’t care for very much.
What I didn’t care for were the sudden reversals that just seemed to happen because that’s the way the writers wanted. Bernadette is a hateful, demeaning shrew who denigrates her husband openly, and then suddenly they are kissing because it’s Valentine’s Day. Sheldon is an insufferable jerk, and then suddenly kisses Amy just because it moves the story arc forward. And Sheldon seems to know that he is being a selfish jerk, and doesn’t care. It’s one thing when he is clueless about romantic interactions, and another when he is aware of Amy’s feelings and then goes off and is selfish anyway.
The guy who had the box fall on his head was funny, and the parts with Leonard and Penny, and Raj and the vet were OK. But it is hard to laugh when Bernadette and Sheldon are being hateful bitches.
And again, an episode where I didn’t laugh out loud once. I know that’s a high standard, but the show used to hit it every week consistently.
The show needs a fresh schtick, and it can’t be “Sheldon and Amy have sex” unless it is a lot better written.
Regards,
Shodan
