Big Bang Theory

Have you guys been catching the new episodes? The first couple after the strike were so-so, but the last several have been great. Last week was Sheldon’s hot sister and this week Leonard’s birthday party. The time machine episode was great too.

This is the only current sitcom I watch unless you count My Name is Earl.

I love this show. Awhile back, my boyfriend randomly downloaded old episodes and made me watch them. I was not interested given the premise, but it’s a really funny show. I always forget to watch it (never been a Monday night TV person) but caught up with the latest 3 online yesterday and watched the new one. Dad asked me what was so funny because I kept laughing out loud. Hope this show sticks around.

I’m still enjoying it, although I don’t think it is as good as the first few episodes. I record that whole block of shows from 8 to 10

I particularly like the titles and how they involve “nerd” concepts. My favorite was The Shiksa Indeterminancy.

It’s my favorite show. My favorite episode is the Halloween party when Sheldon went as the Doppler Effect. I Tivo it so I never miss it.

My daughter and I laughed out loud quite a lot during this latest birthday party episode. The one with Sheldon’s sister was good too.

I liked it when people in the store started coming up to Sheldon and asking for help on networking equipment, and before it was over he had a line of customers and was looking stuff up in the computer like he worked there.

I liked Sheldon in the computer store also. I thought they were going to hire him. Then he actually hacked into the store’s computer to check inventory. It is also cool how he has no interest at all in the blonde, not even to fake it to have a chance to talk to her.

Firewire vs. USB, right, who are you kidding?

Yeah, he fussed at them for using “1234” as their password.

It’s quite amazing that she shows up at his door in a low-cut top and tight shorts while he’s home alone and he has no interest in her at all. He’s not attracted by her, not repulsed by her, just not interested.

Sheldon is clueless. (Non-optional social convention, hee hee hee) Howard’s (?) dentist was so coming on to him, and when Leonard asked him if he was going to see her again, Sheldon said, “Why would I? I already have a dentist.”

When some woman finally catches his eye…that is going to be classic.

We love this show. It’s part of the Monday Night Tivo Block from 8 - 10. I echo the above about Sheldon. He’s so real it’s scary.

My husband and I love this show…we are just geeky enough to get the jokes, but not so geeky that we take them personally!

The first few episodes were terribly stilted. They handle the dialog a whole lot better now.

It’s a terrific show. This and House are my only two must see shows (and, unfortunately, House may be out of the mix soon, this season has pretty much stunk out loud).

I have not liked a sitcom since the first few seasons of Friends and this one is different enough to be refreshing.

Sometimes I wish I identified more with Penny and less with the guys - but hey, we are who we are, right?

Is it weird that I have a HUGE crush on Sheldon?

Best new show this season, and one of only 2 sitcoms I watch (Two and a Half Men is the other.)

Sheldon is and always has been my favorite character, but Howard is getting closer to the top. His whole Brandi Chastain thing when they won the Physics Bowl was hilarious! And, while I haven’t seen the episode with Sheldon’s sister yet, his line in the commercial is a classic:

“Is it because I’m Jewish? Because I will kill my rabbi with a pork chop to be with her!”

I haven’t laughed out loud at a show in quite some time, and BBT never fails to deliver.

We’re probably a season behind you over here. I’ve seen the show and liked the premise and the jokes but could not stand the laugh track. Have they lightend up on that so I can bear to watch it? Meanwhile. . . you guys should seek out The IT Crowd I think it’s aimed at the same audience. If you intend to watch it treat the Wiki entry as a spoiler, don’t read too much before seeing the show.

You can’t be a season behind because this is the show’s first season. The first episode was back in fall 2007.

Yeah the laugh track is a bit opressive, usually I tune it out but they need to tone it down.

The IT Crowd is hilarious, but I don’t think you can get it legally in the US. Someone I know found a way to get the episodes and it is wonderful, but there are no US region 1 DVDs AFAIK.

Speaking of The IT Crowd, what the hell ever happened to the American version with Joel McHale and the original Moss?
