In the game? You shouldn’t believe anything anyone says (unless it’s between true partners like J&J, Brenchel or Will & Boogie.)
There have been other players beside those you mention who have managed to avoid bald-face lying to the others. Not telling the entire truth is a little better than swearing on the dead and offering fake jewelry and other deliberate false moves. Shelly had me on her side until her “big move” with Jeff. She lost me with that one.
Oh, I’m not saying you should root for her. I just don’t think she’s doing anything that hasn’t been done many times before.
Shelly took it to another level.
My problem isn’t with the lying - it’s the constant insistence that she’s only doing what she has to do and that she has a responsibility to her family, etc. When you’re on this or on Survivor, go ahead and lie, I don’t care. But OWN IT. Don’t cry and whine in the diary room about everything - be honest and say “Yeah, I lied. Why? Because I want to win. Duh.” That was what made Dr. Will or Boston Rob so fun to watch - they realize that it’s all a game and that lying is just another tool in their arsenal. And they’re not sorry.
I think those are the exception, not the rule.
It seems like (to me) that only the floaters or players like Jordan can get away with not overtly backstabbing and bald face lying.
I agree that BB practically demands that the players lie. The thing that I didn’t like about Shelly is that in the Diary Room, it seemed like she was actually believing her own lies.
Yes, “own it”. Don’t spend 1/2 the game saying that you are going to just let J&J win and that 3rd place is good enough and then panic when you realize that you don’t have a shot at the final 2.
I’m left thinking either that Shelly didn’t understand the game. I mean, were I her, the first thing that would be on my radar is that the veterans would automatically have a teammate.
This is what bugged me. For over a month she shouted from the rooftop about how her plan was to take J&J to the final three and then just hand them the money because she has integrity and wants good people to win. She didn’t just say this once in passing; for over a month she repeated this refrain over and over and over. She made the bed where turning on her alliance wasn’t an option, and then turned on her alliance. Bad form.
Bump, I saw a promo that there will be an eviction tonight. Checking my DVR guide, there is an episode Thursday, and then no episode until the finale on Wednesday. there is a 9/11 special on Sunday.
They get down to final 4 tonight.
then down to final 3 tomorrow night? and starting the final HOH tomorrow night. Part 1 is usually an an endurance competition and then…?
I’m trying to remember - did she do this only in front of them or in the DR as well? I seem to remember her doing it DR as well…
Not sure. Probably not in DR, but her DR sessions were only loosely connected to reality anyway. Remember her righteous indignation in the DR about the very idea of her proposing a final 3 with B&R after a jump cut of her doing just that.
Can we call Adam the dumbest motherfucker to ever play the game now?
Not that I’m watching or anything. I stopped a month ago.
Earlier in the season, I was hoping a newbie would win, just because I generally don’t like the big controlling alliance to succeed, and the vets were so dominant for more than half the game.
Now, I think I’m in favor of Jordan becoming the first and likely only person to win Big Brother twice.
I don’t think his move (or non-move) was dumb at all. His only real chance is a final 2 with Porsche, and then only if he gets the vets to vote for him. In order to do that, he can’t burn the vets and he has to keep Porsche in the house. Which is exactly what he did. He has to be hoping Porsche wins veto and evicts Rachel.
Though he is stupid in that he thinks he can beat Rachel in the final 2. Not a chance in hell, but if that’s what he’s working toward he’s been doing a fantastic job.
A lot of players don’t like floaters, but I have to say that Adam has put on a clinic for how to float right to the end. Not quite as impressive as Lane last season, but pretty darn good.
I’m hoping there’s a (previously unaired) first week DR with Adam saying “I plan to float through this whole game, aligning with whomever needs/will take me, and never win a competition unless I have to, and then win the last few comps to force myself into the final two.”
If that happens, it would be epic. Otherwise, the whole season is a “meh”
I love it. Rachel and the other vets spend the whole season railing against floaters, only to have the biggest floater of them all end up in the final 3.
It’s looking more and more like Jordan’s game to me. All she has to do is survive to the end and I’m pretty sure she’ll have to the vote.
I really wanted to root for Adam at the beginning of the season. But then he went on to do…nothing. I think Adam’s the classic example of “I’m just happy to be here.” I agree with the assessment that Porsche is the only one he might be able to beat. But he might not even be able to beat her. I don’t think he’s nearly smart enough to know this though. In fact, I think his head will probably explode this week since he doesn’t have anyone to kiss up to and do whatever they want him to do. As if liking apple martinis wasn’t enough, I’m pretty sure his weak playing cost him all his metal cred.
Scenarios:
Jordan over Rachel
Jordan over Porsche
Jordan over Adam
Rachel over Adam
Rachel over Porsche (close)
Adam vs. Porsche (toss-up)
Thoughts?
Not to mention screaming like a little girl when Tori Spelling walked in the house.
