I think Jordan made a big mistake by not backdooring Brendan and Rachel. They’re going to have to go against them sooner or later, why not break them up now? Rachel is better at comps, so get rid of her and Brendan won’t be that big a threat.
Just watched the replay of last night on the net. (Damn, you can’t FF through the commercials) No surprises there.
One more week of this stupid golden key thing. Then let the fun begin.
Amen to the key thing, but I heard rumblings of some other twist that is likely to keep it from really getting fun and funky. I fear for the JJ team, which is where my money with my wife is riding (Jeff actually). She lost her $5 last night by having picked Cassi to go all the way – or at least further than Jeff.
The weird thing is (at least to me) that once Rachel is jettisoned (Oh, Please, let it be soon!) the season gets boring! Think about it.
I’m trying to figure out who the power is in the house. Unfortunately, it appears that Rachel is is driving the BB bus this time. Instead of organizing, it seems everyone is playing their own game. The golden key girls sit in a row watching the game progress, hopefully planning a little alliance of their own.
Yep, I told my wife last night that Jordan should have put Rachel and Brendon up while she had the chance. History has shown that if you don’t break these strong alliances up early they’ll haunt you through the whole game.
She’s just too nice I guess.
I think it was smart not to put up B&R. I wouldn’t go so far as to call backdooring B&R stupid, but I do think people calling Jordan’s move stupid aren’t quite as bright as they think they are. (Not here; other sites.)
Think big picture: B&R are convinced they can easily beat J&J in any head to head. Why would B&R turn on them? Also, B&R clearly present a bigger target to the rest of the house, providing a pretty sweet buffer for J&J. As long as B&R are in the house, J&J have a powerful ally in challenges and a convenient meatshield in case a challenge goes pear-shaped.
Not to mention backdooring B&R last night would have left Jeff alone competing against the entire house in what they knew was going to be a mental competition. Not the greatest position.
Keeping B&R around is a smart move if they want to win the game, but they don’t even really want that; they just want to spend the summer together, meaning all they care about is making jury. For making jury, keeping B&R around is a no-brainer. In that context, it would have been legitimately stupid to backdoor them. That Jordan considered it and Jeff said he’d support her if she wanted to is a testament to how intolerable B&R are to live with.
I don’t care about J&J winning. I don’t want to hear Rachel (and that thing she calls a laugh) anymore.
Wow, that was petty - Brendon and Rachel crying because Jordan didn’t choose them to come watch the show with her.
Rachel is possibly the highest-maintenance person I’ve ever seen. EVERYTHING that happens has to benefit her. It can’t even just be outcome-neutral for her. It has to actually BENEFIT her. Or else she throws a shitfit.
I don’t know how Brendon does it. He has to have some kind of major mental malfunction, because I know that I could NEVER not only date, but propose and seriously consider marrying, someone that high-maintenance.
Not that Brendon’s such a prize himself, of course. Frankly, I think it’s pretty neat karma that these two are getting bound to each other…saves at least two otherwise normal human beings from the misery that would have awaited them.
A profoundly accurate statement. Makes one wonder how many “save the planet” dysfunctional pairs there may be. The scariest part is that I can’t spot their acting: this may be for real.
My favorite soundbite of the year…
Brendon - “I put my %#@% PhD on hold for this, but I’m going to quit now…” (or something like that)
Rachel “Well, why did you come then?”
Brendon “Because you wanted to.”
I’m afraid that those two may actually have kids one day.
We can only hope that websites like match.com and eharmony.com matches people like Brendan and Rachel together.
I’m finally convinced that as messed up as she is, he’s worse. He was the one losing his shit over her giving Porsche a hint. And then he was going on and on about how she doesn’t think about things. Dude, like she was saying, it was a luxury competition, not HOH or veto. Of course she was really angry too, but more because she felt that Jordan stabbed her in the back by not picking her for a really unimportant gift. (Though I know any distraction in the house has to be a good one).
IIRC, he actually said “I’m risking my PhD for this…”, which made little sense to me. Is his advisor going to cut him off because he went on a reality show? Can you be denied a PhD for proving you’re a douchebag in front of the whole country? What’s he talking about there?
Oh, absolutely. Like I posted above, he’s no prize, either. He’s kind of pretty to look at (when he’s not pouting or crying or has his brow beetled together like he’s trying to figure out something or looking like he just smelled something nasty), but his personality stinks. He’s really at least as co-dependent as Rachel is, and as whinily insecure as she is, too. She needs to be coddled by everyone (or else they’re a “floater”), but he has this hairtrigger insecurity about his masculinity and dignity. Half the time he seems almost amazed that Rachel loves him and puts up with him, and the other half he seems like he’s the most amazing guy for putting up with and loving Rachel with the way she acts.
Not only would either one of them absolutely exhaust me if I were to wake up in a nightmare where I was either one’s romantic interest, the two of them would exhaust me just as acquaintances, let alone friends. There’s too much there there…they both seem to have to have something dramatic going on all the time and I can’t stand that crap.
Am I the only one hoping that this golden key crap is forever over with as of this week. They made a similar promise in Survivor RI but brought RI back, not only for that series, but the next series as well. Please let this golden key thing die. Please.
If the whole house participates, Rachel will be riding the bus. In the express lane.
I assume that he was in the middle of his studies when they called him to be on the show, and for whatever reason will have trouble picking back up when he returns. Or perhaps there are issues of timeliness involved - he promised to get his thesis done by a certain date for example, or it involves something topical or it’s just something that can only be done within a certain time span, etc.
I want it to last one more week, where the four golden key holders (minus Dani) compete in some kind of competition where the winner uses their key to unlock their evicted partner returning to the house. Of course, it goes without saying that I want this because I want Cassi back; she’s purty to look at. But it would also be awesome just to see Rachel’s head explode.
Golden keys can be permanently done away with after that and I wouldn’t miss them for a second.
That would be a great twist, and one that makes sense considering that they lost a contestant. Are there any rumors floating around that this might happen? Are Cassi and Keith being sequestered?
Porshe probably would not try to hard to get Keith back.
Apparently they are. Keith, anyway, didn’t know who of the newbies voted against him when he did his morning show interview, which makes me think he was kept in the dark even after his eviction. Which makes me think they may be sequestering.
They are sequestering, but they sequestered in BB11 and nothing ever came of it.
Shelly’s goodbye message to Cassi was obviously edited to within an inch of its life to remove the part where she confessed to voting Keith out. No way would Shelly not confess that, and the edits in her video were quite jarring.
