Big Love Season 3 Premier on now

Is that Chakotay I just saw?

Yes, it was. He looks good with long white hair.

I thought it was a good episode; the season is definitely starting off with a bang. I think I picked up at least 6 separate plotlines:

[ol]
[li]Anna joining the family[/li][li]Roman’s trial[/li][li]The casino[/li][li]Ada setting up Alby[/li][li]Barb’s potential cancer[/li][li]Frankie on the street[/li][li]Sarah going away to college[/li][/ol]

Make that 7.

Another exciting season.

Not to mention Nikki passing herself of as Margene and working for her father in the county office. If Bill gets wind of that, she very well may find herself with a one-way ticket back to the compound.

I thought the whole block party thing was kinda awkward and contrived. And poor Teeny, that girl is like a bad replica of Pippi Longstocking. Poor kid! It seems like they ought to do something with her hair, she’s obviously about a foot or more taller than last season and they might as well go with it. I think with contacts and a better hair cut, she’d be fine.
I think Barb is trying to cover the worst case scenario by recruiting a replacement for herself

What was is Margene said to the wife during the casino negotiations?

No mention of the weird sect from the end of last season (one’s that shot Roman)

Will Nicki move back to the compound to make room for Anna?
Do we really need spoiler tags? It should be clear this thread will be discussing details of the Big Love season premier.

My impression is that Barb believes that if she dies and then Bill marries someone else, she’ll be stuck with that person in the afterlife for all eternity. So by getting him to date Anna now, she at least gets a chance to have a say in it.

When the above comments were made, the episode had not aired on the west coast yet.

That, and right now she’s really just kind of grasping for anything she has control over. The possibility of her cancer being back has her feeling scared and powerless, so she’s really clinging to the stuff that she does have some power over–the family and her place in it. If you noticed last night, at the family meeting she was much crisper, almost dictatorial. Last season when Nikki and Margie started up their little catfights, she just kind of let 'em run on and then tried to get everyone to make nice. But last night she pretty much told Nikki to sit the hell down and STFU. (Which, imo, she should have done about 7 years ago, but that’s really neither here nor there.)

flickster, in that very last scene when Albie and Adeline cross paths, one of the mailboxes on the corner said Green. Since she was waiting to turn on that road, I kind of assumed she was going to see the Greens about some sort of…arrangement. Which, since Albie stopped short in the middle of the road and his eyes got all big and buggy, I have to think he came to same conclusion.

I thought that little look between Alby and Adaleen was him realizing that she (his own mother) was responsible for the attempt on his life. Didn’t Adaleen imply to Nikki that Alby was soliciting sex in a men’s room? I doubt he publicized that fact, so how else would she have known?

That was definitely my impression.

Good catch on the mailbox! I missed that entirely.

I was thinking that, too…I mean, I assumed so. That must be how she knew just exactly how he almost bought it.

Is it okay to say things about tonight’s episode yet?

Yeah, but let’s do a new thread here.
