Bill Clinton hospitalized since Tuesday with non-COVID sepsis

Sepsis. Yikes. That’s really scary. They’re saying that his condition is improving. Sure hope that’s true.

Sounds like they caught it before it got too advanced, which is good. Doesn’t sound too serious, although that can change quickly.

His white blood count went down which seems to be a good sign. I wish him well.

CNN described it as “hospitalized for infection” but the word “sepsis” was never mentioned. Sepsis is damned serious stuff, but it sounds like he’s over the worst of it. Clinton had quadruple bypass surgery over fifteen years ago and I remember thinking how scary that must have been. He wrote a really interesting account of the experience. He’s been through a lot.

And I believe it’s treated with massive doses of some industrial-strength antibiotics, which can have serious adverse effects too.

He was hospitalized for infection, the sepsis came when the infection spread to his bloodstream.

NBC News Radio expects him to be released tomorrow, if not today.
