Its not so much some of the stuff he did in the past. Its that he is still here and still defending it ( and in his didnt inhale/ what is is / sleazy lawyer techically ways).
I could care either way what B Clinton does. But I have to say as long as he’s keeping Starving Artist, and his ilk, foaming at the mouth, and dancing like puppets straining and stretching for reasons for condemning the man, then I say let’s have some more. I hope he’s on every show going and the cover of some magazines too! I hope they give him some awards and citations, just so I can watch the stupids and their jerk circles.

It was entirely common for someone to join a toking circle with no intention whatever of getting stoned. Saw it happen many, many times. Its a gesture, sometimes referred to as “kissing”, you put the joint/pipe to your lips and then pass it along. You are participating in the spirit of the thing. It can also be a way of reassuring people who don’t know you that you are “one of us”.
Can’t expect SA to know about this, his ignorance of hippy culture is vast and unsullied by any stain of fact. And here’s another clue: control freaks don’t like pot, its too unpredictable, it can lead you think things you’d prefer not to. And if ever there was a control freak, it would have been Horndog Bill. Every move, every gesture, every action he took was taken under the consideration: how would this look when I’m running for office? So, no, even if he had gotten stoned once, I very much doubt he would do it again.

The fact that Clinton lied about having had sex with that woman, is understandable to me, given that he’s trying to protect his family, but it burns my ass that he was asked under oath.
We’ve all failed at leading exemplary lives, but its clear to me that Clinton has devoted his life to the service of others. He started out with a cushy professorship job and within a year sought public office. His accomplishment as governor and president are enormous, but what impresses me even more is the tireless work he is accomplishing with the William J. Clinton Foundation. This is a life dedicated to the service of bettering Americans first and humanity in general.
For this I hold him in high esteem.
I’ve generally regarded every US president worthy of respect including both Carter and Bush II, the only two who I believe were net negatives in the progress of America and the world in general.
During the Bush years, the major issue for this board was Iraq, I supported the mission, had reservations now and then and today I feel some hope that the cost was worth it. Certainly a lot less lives were lost than in the War of Independance and the American Civil War. but that is easy to say for me, being Canadian as I didn’t have to pay any price.
I don’t really have a political tag. If anything I’m a centist. But I’ve been willing to voice support for any president who I feel has a comprehensive agenda with the aim to do good . History is full of positive accomplishment in the face of much opposition in the enactment.
I’m surprised that jayjay is unaware of my numerous posts with respect supporting Hillary and subsequently Obama during the last presidential election campaign. And I’ve never had anything but good things to say about Bill Clinton in the past.

Obviously not. I think he got trapped in the Oval Office, or a plain little chubette like Ms Lewinsky wouldn’t have had a chance. A President has zero chance to sneak off to snag a bit of strange nookie, being surrounded by Secret Service agents, that sort of thing. As Governor, he still had a bit of slack, a governor is not subjected to the same level of scrutiny. But POTUS? No way, Josefina!
