You know what you should do? You should go to the middle of Times Square and shout this.
Or alternatively, just move your head around a bit. You’ll probably puncture something and hopefully develop fatal peritonitis.
Seriously though, you’ve very very wrong. If well intentioned.
You sound like a very frightened little fascist. Just because a lot of people worked for over a decade to make this happen doesn’t mean that all adults are jumping up and down like at a football game. It was a dirty job that needed to be done and was done well. Now on to the next AQ’s we find. As much as I disagree with Obama in general, the tone of his speech was the right one to set.
Me too, I only celebrate when the person who is killed or dies planned or helped others to commit hundreds if not thousands of murders.
I can only say that the ones that are queasy or saying tsk tsk to the celebrators is that you guys would had been “fun” in Munchkin land when the witch finally got it.
Well, suppose they did take out Osama with a drone attack, but decided to make up the stuff about a commando raid in order to not chafe local sensitivities. Why would I care, none of our people were killed, no civilian casualties, what’s not to love?
Mine is a lively intelligence, but not a unique one, if that thought occurs to me, good bet it will occur to somebody else.
I think it was extremely important that they got the body, which couldn’t have happened with a drone attack. I’ve already heard some remarks by MSNBC reporters that there are people in the gatherings who are saying it’s not true. Of course, what are they doing there if they don’t believe it?
So far I haven’t seen anyone scold celebrators directly. Rather, some are expressing a broad range of emotions that include things other than absolute ecstasy.
Elucidator should still kill himself though. That’s a general point I’m making. Nothing do to with he’s specific post in case I wasn’t clear. Sorry for the confuzzlement.
Oh, and I voted for Obama and will proudly do so again. Idiot.
And my previous post should say “his specific post”. Not “he’s specific post”. That was an error I made cause I’m drinking to celebrate a dead mass murderer.
Hey people on Facebook who are posting some fake picture of OBL dead with a headshot - Go fuck yourself! Some people get genuinely disturbed by that shit - fake or not.
And an additional FU to anyone who references a “raghead” or “towel-head” in their comments.
I suspect some of them may even have considered Bogan Pride to be an insightful documentary, too?
As for the news itself: I was surprised when I saw the news on the BBC, but I imagine that they’d want to make extra sure before making that kind of announcement, so I’d say they’re absolutely sure it’s him.
I agree that I don’t think we should celebrate anyone’s death, and I’ll throw Hitler, Mao, Stalin etc etc into this mix. I mean, we can celebrate them changing their minds, or getting captured. We can even celebrate the direct consequence that their death means that they won’t be harming anyone anymore. But to me celebrating their death just fuels too much of a cycle. I’m glad that he can’t harm anyone anymore, and I’m somewhat abstractly glad that he got a form of comeuppance and didn’t just walk away free, but I can’t in good faith celebrate that any human is dead.
Now, that’s not to say we shouldn’t have killed him, I’m not shedding any tears over that. I have no objection to taking military action against someone when it’s necessary or would result in a greater good. Him dying, and us killing him is totally, perfectly fine on every level. It’s just I don’t think the reaction and celebration is proper.
