“I swear to God that the intent wasn’t to bring the towers down altogether.”
What the hell? Was that some sort of an apology?
Padeye– No, he said something like “Your security does not lie with Bush, your security does not lie with Kerry, your security does not lie with Al Qaeda-- it is in your hands.”
I wonder if Bin Laden is trying to bolser support for Bush by putting out a scary video to frighten American voters into retaining the best recruiter Al Qaeda has ever had.
Ah, I misunderstood that. It apparently referred to some towers that were brought down in Lebanon 22 years ago, and was something like “We didn’t want to see those towers come down.” (I thought that was pretty bizarre.)
On the other hand it’s a sharp and timely reminder of Bush’s failure to catch the guy. And Kerry can pound home the message of Bush’s unconcern, and the way Bush lied about that unconcern at the debate. If we get really lucky, some of the media might replay the Bush quote once or twice.
(FTR, I believe Bush actually IS concerned about OBL; that “not really worried about him” was pure sour grapes, because he couldn’t catch him.)
Well, you should have thought of that before you told those people to fly airplanes into them. Now, clean up this mess, and you are not to touch another toy until everything is back exactly the way you found it!</preschool teacher voice>
