… And he rented “Fahrenheit 9/11.”
Yeah…?
Talk about a zing.
I’m bumfuzzled that everyone associates this with Michael Moore. That toothy Shelly Duvall lookalike that speaks for the Bush admin was even accusing Michael Moore of “giving aid and comfort to the enemy” within a half hour of the Bin Laden tape story breaking.
What the hell? That video was widely circulated on the internet for months before the release of F9/11 earlier this year. Heck, I heard about it here.
Does this mean Osama is an SDMB subscriber?
Khee-rist. I was just joking.
Somebody in the Bush administration is seriously making this point?
Color me bumfuzzled, too.
What point?
rjung? milroyj? Diogenes!?!
::::d&r::::
That Bush is a loser because he didn’t sprint into a phonebooth and come out with a cape on. That way he could have personally stopped all the other planes.
GAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
Please, PLEASE don’t start that one up again!!!
AAAAAARGGHHH!!!

Ahem…so it was apparently his notion that the commander-in-chief and president of the United States would, upon hearing of what was happening, somehow transport himself instantly to the Twin Towers and somehow help the people there at this time when they needed him most? And not only that, but he made the determination instantly that the “ramming of the goat” was “more important” than the ramming of the skyscrapers and so blithely continued pursuing his real interest which was the story about the goat.
Cripes! Why does anyone pay any attention to this crap? All Bin Laden has done is reveal himself as an amatuer manipulator of image and sentiment, and as a gross amatuer at the application of logic in trying to do so.
He’s not only a murderous asshole, he’s a lamebrain, too. Who’d a thunk it?
He’s also revealed himself to be very much alive. After all the “Smoke him out” huffy-puffing of Bush several years ago, who’d a thunk it?
So much the better. Now we know he’s alive, we can redouble our efforts to eradicate him from the face of the planet…provided that Bush is still in office, of course.
Sorry…now that we know he’s alive…etc.
Why didn’t he do that 3 years ago?
Well, based on the area and terrain, it may take awhile. This isn’t as simple as rounding up Slobo.
That is, of course as long as Bush can stop being so preoccupied with Iraq and remember who exactly attacked us, without lying and obfuscating and using fabricated fucking evidence to prove tenuous links to other nations. Which, of course, won’t ever happen.
Great goal.
You are exactly the demographic in this nation that I DON’T get.
Sam
She knows that. She’s just grasping at straws, as usual, to try to find fault – any fault – with Bush.
Well, Sam, I know how you feel. I don’t get the likes of you, either. Do you really think Bush is incapable of remembering who attacked us? Do you really think, given all that the president of the U.S. has to ride herd over, that he couldn’t deal with Iraq and Bin Laden at the same time?
That’s just nonsense and the only people who believe it are the ones who are so blinded by their hatred and/or disgust with Bush that they’ve lost perspective on reality. But even then, such an obvious lack of logic is hard to understand.
Unlike Bush, who has a wonderful perspective on reality. Rapidly dwindling through his rear-view mirror as he continues to distance himself from it.
Enjoy,
Steven
Oh, so he could have gone after 2 targets at once, he just didn’t. I see. I’m sure he’s a real multitasker at heart. The problem is, he went after an enemy that wasn’t in any position to aid Al Qaeda, had nothing to do with 9/11, and didn’t even have a functional weapons program-but still, they were still a prime target as a threat to the US.
Right.
Meanwhile, OBL, the original target, the “mastermind” of 9/11, is free and alive and forgotten about for the most part. We’ve waged a war costing us over $120B against Iraq, and we’ve got nothing to show for it. We could have taken on Saudi Arabia with all of that money, recovered their weapons program, cut off their support of terrorism, and been much better off.
I don’t hate Bush, but I think he’s a crap leader. I don’t know why you say that it has to be those who are “blinded by hatred and disgust” at the man. Actually, I do, it’s called having to justify to yourself why people don’t agree with you. People “the likes of my kind”, couldn’t possibly have made an informed decision about Bush, it has to be hatred, ignorance, disgust or whatever.
Must be lonely having to look down upon the masses from up there, eh?
