If he can do it, and he does not do it - and currently he is not - why are we wasting time and resources with him as our leader?
Blinded? Not at all; I can see some good, as well. But I’m disgusted with Bush because, overall, he’s done a terrible job.
Bush’s major focus has been terrorism, and the face of it has been Osama - yet he’s still alive after three years and tens of billions of dollars and tens of hundreds of soldiers spent on the task. The only good excuse for this is that our other endevours in the “War on Terror” - i.e. Iraq - have taken up resources, but that has shown itself to be a mistake to pursue with regards to terrorism and security in general.
On the flip side - though harder to gauge - America seems no more secure than it was, preceeding the attacks.
This is enough for me to want him and his administration out of power; he has not accomplished his self-stated goals, or really met key milestones, so it’s time to get someone else for the job.
It’s like a contractor, hired to fix a small but devastating problem, who then orders some parts. He then sees a possibly bigger problem, argues away that it must be fixed immediately, and orders even more parts. Time goes on and work progresses, but neither problem has been completely repaired, and it looks more and more like some problems were misdiagnosed.
If it continues, then there’s a time when you’ve got to fire to the guy - even if he’s real nice, or he needs the money, or whatever. Bush has had 3/4 of his term to repair the problems he set out to fix … but he still wants more.
O recreant jackass, I think the ideal way to avoid another Manhattan is for compulsive murderers like you to exercise some fucking self-control. You’re the asshole who gave Bush the excuse to start his wars. I doubt whether you give any more of a shit about the Iraqi and Afghani lives as you did about the lives in the towers or the jets. Fuck you.
You think I give a shit what you hate? I think you don’t understand something. One reason I would vote for Kerry over Bush is because I believe that Kerry might be better at tracking you down and blowing your fucking head off. Your words are poison because they come out of your sooty mouth. I think Jeffrey Dahmer has a higher moral standing to lecture me about the foundation of human life than you do. Fuck you.
Tell me, which of the people whom you murdered and maimed that morning had squandered your security? Was it 22-year-old Jessica Sacks? 23-year-old Mohammad Salman Hamdani? 67-year-old Mary Trentini? 3-year-old Dana Falkenberg? Maybe her big sister, 8-year-old Zoe? Fuck you.
I’m a little surprised by you, frankly. I mean, you think I’m as stupid as the clueless thugs you brainwash into committing suicide and murder. I mean, if you expect me to draw some dichotomy and say, “Oh, Bush is deceiving me while this nice man Osama is revealing the truth,” then you’re as much a moron as you are a coward. Fuck you.
America? You murdered people from 80 different nations. You even murdered your own men. If you’re so fucking brave, get in a plane your damn self and crash it into something. Fucking sissy. Fuck you.
What a gutless milquetoast. Let’s see, the big bad man was mean to me, so I’ll beat up his grandmother. What about the fucking emotions of orphans and mothers and siblings who stood outside Ground Zero for two weeks holding pictures of their loved-ones in case anyone could tell them anything about where they were? Fuck your emotions. Fuck your overwheming feelings. And fuck you.
So “IT” could taste? So “IT” could taste? You know, it’s bad enough that you’re a demon from the bowels of hell. But the fact that you hide behind women and children to justify your deeds speaks to your boundless cowardice. And the fact that you call the women and children you murdered “IT” reveals you for the psychotic monster you are. Fuck you.
Yeah, and you have a lot of humility and honor. You delusional jellyfish. The very least you could do is take upon your own narrow shoulders the responsibility for what YOU have done. Bush might be a dick, buy you’re syphilis. Fuck you.
Yeah, I know. But he would have done that anyway. That’s because his Attorney General thinks the Statue of David is obscene. Listening to you moralize about Bush has a certain Twilight Zone quality to it. All I want to do when I hear you speak is push a power drill down your throat. Yeah, I know that that’s an evil thought. But if I could secure a deal where I go to hell and you get brought to justice, I’d take it. Fuck you.
You quivering pusillanimous troll. You mean your puny plan was nothing more than a game of tag with the hapless George W Bush? Come out of your hole in the ground and face the families of the people you murdered, you punk. Fuck you.
Sounds like every other politician. Yes he is a vile murderous bastard of the highest order but manipulating images and sentiments to influence a vote…that doesn’t sound new.
Let’s all hope that this wanker doesn’t influence the election in the way it probably will.
Bush winning can only help Osama. Fresh converts daily.
Interesting that this tape was released just before the US elections, just in time to play on fears about national security: I have a sneaking feeling Bin Laden WANTS Bush re-elected, since his ham-fisted blundering in Iraq seems to be accomplishing nothing more than pissing off a whole lot more Muslims.
OF COURSE he wants Bush re-selected. How in the world can anyone think otherwise? He let Osama get away then helped the terrorists recruit by invading Iraq. Jesus! How could anyone think this helps Bush?
“He may hide for a while, but we’ll get him,” the president said.
“I don’t care, dead or alive — either way,” Bush said. December 14, 2001
“I truly am not that concerned about him.” March 13, 2002
Examining your link and the context thereof, it seems to me that what Bush meant by being not that concerned about Osama was in the sense of American Heritage’s number 4, causing anxiety or uneasiness. By lifting the short sentence from the rather long remarks, you seem to be implying that capturing him is no longer of any importance to Bush. In your link, Bush goes on to explain that he believes he has so marginalized the murderous thug that he personally is less capable than before of carrying out terrorism of the magnitude and organization of 9/11. The rest of the paragraph you truncated was, “I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban.”
Greetings to Starving Artist. I see you took a slap from GaWd who remarked: “Must be lonely having to look down upon the masses from up there, eh?” This is a very amusing statement coming from a fellow who has taken the *nom de blog * of “GaWd.” <snicker>
Greetings to Ilsa_Lund, my most fervent “supporter.”
Mucho kudos to Liberal for his excellent fisking of Osama bin Laden’s recent statement. Very well done, sir.
I would also like to address Mr. bin Laden:
A thousand salutations, sir. You seem to be still alive and in tolerable good health. Good for you, sir. How does it feel knowing that, at any given moment, someone somewhere is looking for you?
Thank you, sir, for finally taking full responsibility for 9-11. Thank you for reminding American voters of what this election is all about. Thank you for admitting that the Afghan election went off relatively smoothly and that you were unable to seriously disrupt it. Apparently you no longer enjoy the power you used to have. That is good to know. Thank you for that insight, sir.
Finally, I hope your hidey-hole is a deep one. In not, may Allah embrace you soon. Farewell for now, sir.
To the BBQ Pit: OBL’s recent statement can only help GWB on Tuesday. How can it not? But those of you who suggested that OBL wants to see GWB re-elected are giving OBL too much credit for Machiavellian thinking. Do not forget: If GWB is re-elected, he is term-limited. He can treat the terrorists as roughly as he wants to without worrying too much about political consequences. In that case, he can probably kill off the terrorists faster than they can be recruited, no matter how much they try to use GWB as a recruiting poster. “Oh, sure, dude; join our cause. We absolutely guarantee that you will get killed. 72 virgins, dude.” This will become discouraging after awhile.
I was particularly struck by OBL’s reference to Sweden. If the terrorists have not attacked Sweden, it is because they do not have to. That country is already in serious trouble from within. Malmo, the third largest city in Sweden, is now virtually under the control of violent Islamic gangs who have resisted assimilation for over 20 years. Sweden, deep in the heart of liberal Scandinavia, is on its way to becoming a terrorist outpost.
Why doesn’t anyone consider the feelings of the warlords to whom Bush outsourced the job of catching Bin Laden?
In all this reminiscence about how Bush failed miserably, and responded to Bin Laden’s attack by letting him go free and instead attacking one of Bin Laden’s enemies, we forget that Bush did send the warlords.
And now that we have this new tape, you just know the warlords are feeling even more ashamed (or would be, if they weren’t partaking in their booming opium economy).
If it wasn’t for all the other failures of Bush, I would be tempted to vote for him just because of how Kerry unfairly denigrates the warlords.
Some of OBL’s talking points could have been taken straight out of Fahrenheit 911. Did Michael Moore write the script for OBL’s recent videotape? Or did OBL write the script for Fahrenheit 911?
