Birth control in Australia

I’ve been lurking for quite a while, but finally I come to the Dope for help solving my latest dilemma. I’m an American living in Australia, and I’m just about to run out of birth control pills. Needless to say, I didn’t plan ahead. I usually get my birth control for free at Planned Parenthood in the states. Is there an equivalent here is Australia? I’m looking for a clinic or any sort of place where I won’t have to pay full price or visit a doctor. I’m here in Sydney for at least another 3 months, so I hope such an option exists.

Thanks in advance,
Swirl

I think your best bet is to contact Family Planning in NSW - follow the link and find your nearest clinic. I am pretty sure they don’t charge for the service for Australians, but I don’t know if the same is true for foreigners. Just call them and they will be able to help, either way!
