If you have someone musical just entering the job market, check out the Street Hustler – Busker branch. Musicians at the top of their game can bring in a lot of money there.
Yes, indeed. I had a couple people make $80-100 thousand a year doing that. Just throw away all drugs and food offered, and run away from any potentially dangerous animals. My first busker got mauled by a bear.
lol, I played it a couple of years ago when it was buggy as hell and didn’t have anything like it does now I had the first social media lesbian porn star queen until she was 55 amount other things …
but back then the game would just randomly reset and you’d lose anything …
Propose with a fake ring at your own risk. I had no money for a real one, so I bought a fake one and my girlfriend identified it, argued with me about it, and our relationship bar took a huge hit. I broke up with her 'cuz I decided I couldn’t recover from that.
I tried to recover my losses by selling it to someone as fake, but they identified it as fake, too, and I got six years in prison for fraud and was forced to drop out of university.
I meant, “by selling it to someone as real.”
I downloaded the app and tried it. It made me watch four or five video ads in the span of maybe five minutes. And of course the ever-present ad bar at the bottom. And of course the nudges to watch a video to unlock this thing or that thing if I want to do anything at all.
Maybe it’s worth paying for, but if a game is going to swarm me with advertisements when I’m still trying to figure out if I like it, I’ll never get the chance to find out.
If you want a cheap laugh, whenever you get sick, look up your symptoms on the web before seeking treatment. My character once thought she had bubonic plague. It was the common cold, you goober.
It’s worth it. It’s fairly cheap and you can play pretty much an unlimited number of generations if you remember to keep having children and are fortunate enough to survive until the next generation.
I wish I could turn off the notifications that such-and-such challenge has gone live. I have absolutely no interest in challenges.
Just a one-time fee of eight bucks. They also offer unlimited undos (the Time Machine) for another $20; it’s a buck per undo otherwise.
NB: do not pray to the devs. That also brings up ads.
Or marrying someone who already has children, or adopting before aging out of being approved.
I believe the maximum age for adoption is 65. And keep in mind that commercial surrogacy isn’t legal in every country, even some of the free countries like the UK.
Family lines never seem to hold my interest after a few generations.
My current line is in its second generation, the middle son of an Australian TV star who parlayed his wealth into starting a pharmaceutical company. The company was never very profitable so the son sold it off and took a part time job as a nightclub doorman.
The board of directors of a large – over 1000 employees – sporting equipment company offered him three mil to be their CEO. He accepted and became a minor celebrity in his own right; now he visits that nightclub’s VIP lounge rather than work the door.
Really? I’m the exact opposite; my Selassie Legacy is in its 80th generation. (Though almost all of them have had the last name Zebene).
I’ve played it off-and-on (and purchased) for a couple years, but in my last playthroughs a few weeks ago I was making $180K/year with a paid-for house and living very modestly, yet I was losing money every year. There is no detail as to most of your expenses, and I watched my $500K inheritance dwindle to nothing in minutes because of this.
I uninstalled. The intertubes had quite a few complaints about this expense issue.
FWIW, I’ve only run into that when there were a bunch of kids at home. As in real life, they’re a big drain on resources.
Well, I think I know what side of the transgender-athletes-in-sports debate BitLife comes down on.
My current character came out as trans while she was 15 and still on the high school basketball team. It was the very first time the game ever told me that one of my characters was suffering from gender dysphoria, though you can make any of your characters trans if you want to.
Despite that, she was still drafted by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, and had a few good seasons with them, but when her contract expired, the only team that offered her a place was the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
And she proceeded to win a mind-blowing 11 WNBA championships with them. If this were the real world, conservatives would be screaming about her on Fox News every day.
I’ve now moved into the play testing portion of my BitLife experience, filling in the blank spaces on the BitLife wiki’s Nations page by playing characters in the unmarked countries.
I’ve discovered that there are at least three more “dangerous countries” than were originally suspected – Belize, El Salvador, and Guyana citizens can die of terrorist and battlefield attacks.
My Australian TV star ran out of heirs. I’ve decided to give the Mafia life another shot, with a girl in Japan stealing cars for a Triad family. She did try the Yakuza first but they didn’t want her.
Haiti, too. 12 countries so far.
I have this game on my phone and will pull it up every so often when I get bored with other games I play regularly. A question for other Bitlife players - how much do you do with your character each year? There’s not much you can do when they’re young, so I’ll do a couple of activities, usually “spend time” with other family members or pets, before hitting the Age+ button. Once they’re in high school and beyond, when they can get a job and do more interesting things, I’ll do maybe half a dozen or so things per year. Do you add years frequently or do you do lots of things per year? Just trying to get a feel for how others play the game.
I always have mine spend time with family/friends/pets and maintain their vehicle. Gardening, when applicable, helps with health & relieve stress but not all bits like to garden; I send them to the gym instead.
Anything else really depends on their career – actors need to develop their character and practice their lines, athletes and musicians need to practice their various skills, Mafia members need to steal lots of stuff for their Family, etc.
