Des Moines, IA, home of probably 100 shithole bars, used to have a particularly low-rent looking establishment called Vicky’s Pourhouse.
There are a number of bars in US college towns called The Library, too. Off the top of my head, I know there’s one in LA, another one in San Luis Obispo (Cal Tech), one in Tempe (Arizona State University) and I think there’s one here in San Diego, too (UCSD/SDSU). ETA: Apparently a few others, too…
One here, too, though I think it’s in a bit nicer neighborhood.
There’s one on the Lower East Side called “The Hairy Monk.” Whiskey tango foxtrot?
Used to be one in Jackson near all the downtown hospitals - called The Recovery Room.

We’ve got a gay bar here called Georgie’s Alibi, established back when gay men were still in the closet and had wives and kids back home. And my BF used to bartend at a gay bar called the Back Room Bar.
A Bar in Annapolis remembers the great patriot and sailor, Admiral Fell with The Admiral Fell Inn.
In San Francisco in the Bank of America building there was a place called the Bar of America. The Bank sued them, humorless as they are.
When I open a bar it will be The Bar of Gold.

In Minot, ND, our local usual hangout was The Blind Duck, and was the happenin’ joint in town. A few years later the ‘scene’ changed as some other bars tried to open up, but then the owners of the Duck opened The Udder Place (apparently, a drunk cow). Good times indeed!

I saw a bar in Rochester, NY called Tipsy McStagger’s. I still get a huge kick out of that one.
No, but there is one in Baltimore. It’s a hotel, but I’m sure it has a bar in it.
Daffy’s and The Doghouse and right in between the two was the Chicken Ranch (Go-Go Bar).

Sheesh, I just came in to tell about a bar with that name that I visited while in university, here in Topeka. It too was near our two major hospitals. The bar is now named “The Boobie Trap”

Denver has a gay bar named JR’s, too. We have The Detour and C’s for the lesbians. I haven’t been on the full tour, but I’m working on it.
