Beware Hockey fans…in his NHL debut on Wednesday night, rookie Goalie Michael Leighton stopped 31 shots for the Blackhawks.

Just yanking yer chain, Jar. Those of us in the great state to your north have no pro hockey team to cheer, so we’re Hawks fans by default (actually, a lot of us are Cubs fans too, since we have no pro baseball team either. You hear me, none!)
Plus, I got to get in a shot on the Bears, which is always nice.

I’ll wait to pass judgment after tonights game against Modano & Co. in Dallas. Phoenix is well… Phoenix. I’m glad to see any team find a decent goalie though.
Buffalo has the real deal in Ryan Miller. This kid is good. I only got to see him live once, last year for Ice Wars. Hockey outdoors in a football stadium is awesome! It’s the only way a schmoe like me can actually get a ticket to a Michigan/Michigan State game too. A lot of folks around here are upset that he didn’t stay for his Senior year, but when you’ve already got a Hobey Baker award, you’re ready for the pro’s. To bad he’s stuck on a team with no offense after Satan.
But then I can say that when last year, my team had the Dominator. This year we have Cujo. Oh yeah, and we have The Cup too.

Jarbaby, they chickened out and played Thibault tonight. They should have went with Leighton. You always go with the hot goalie. I can’t believe it. What kind of people does your team have calling the shots?
They couldn’t have done any worse with the rookie. That was just stupid.
I don’t think that going with Thibault was a mistake for the Hawks especially since he’s in the running for the Vezna so far. Thibault is young and maybe you’ll see this Leighton as a regular in a few years, or maybe he’ll sit on the bench in Chicogo like Hasek did.
