i’m so glad i’m not the only who sees it this way. they look like colourful franciscans.
i had a snuggle sack, goodness that thing was great. it was quilted and snapped up the frount and on the bottom, then the part that went over your shoulders snapped on the front. it was wonderful. when i needed to get up i could either unsnap the bottom and just walk in it, or unsnap the whole thing and look like i was coming out of a cocoon.
atomicflea, i do believe i did see a footed version quite a bit ago (it zipped, looked tough to get in and out of). it was in one of those catalogs that are single sheets and come hundreds of sheets at a time in a big envelope. i haven’t seen anything like it recently.
I had one like rocking chair described and absolutely loved it!! I didin’t know they were still being made. It was better than a bathrobe, IMO. I am a little taller than average, and most bathrobes come down to about mid-calf length, and my ankles get so chilly.
Thank goodness those hideous leg warmers are now back in the stores!
Jesus, people, just turn up the heat a little! It’s very sad to have to waddle around your house clad in layers of polyester fleece. It doesn’t have to be at sauna levels to be comfy. And suffering isn’t really as good for your soul as you would think. I think massive layers of thermal protection are fine for when you have to brave the elements outdoors, but I don’t want to brave the elements indoors. I don’t want to run around naked in the winter either…I just don’t want to spend my evenings wrapped in a cocoon. This is not why we fought so hard for insulated homes and double glazing.
I think they look pretty goofy. Goofiness aside, they also look like they were made by little children in a dirty sweatshop using the cheapest materials known to man.
Our house is old and my office walls are made of field stone (and a fireplace), which makes for a chilly 12 hour shift. I prefer a toasty 72 degrees, but my husband only lets me do 70 before he’s uncomfortably warm. I pretty much require something over my sweats and sweater or I’m very uncomfortable.
That said, the snuggle blanket sack thing does nothing a decent robe can’t do.
How well does it work around the feet? That’s where I have problems with blankets and throws on the sofa. I practically have to wrap myself or wear thick socks.
