So, I’m thinking of getting Mommypants one of those sleeved blankets I’ve seen on tv. Either the Snuggie or the Slanket. Anyone have one of these things? Do you like it?
My friend has a few of these at her cottage, along with some pillows with footholes in them. They are comfy and great but they encourage sloth! Also, you tend to walk around in them and they gather dust. Also, the commercial for Snuggie is hilarious– ack, I can’t reach anything with this blanket over me!
My brother has one and he says he loves it. He and his girlfriend fight over who gets to wear it.
The people in that Snuggie commercial look oddly like they’re wearing monks’ habits.
I liked the Snuggie until I tried to order one yesterday, and found it would take 4 weeks to deliver.
I got a cheap one to wear while I’m working and the snaps came off. 
Other than that, it’s nice to have, but a robe will do just as well. It’s the original blanket with sleeves.

I love that commercial. It looks like some kind of weird peek into the lives of cult members or wizards. It shows entire families in long robes enjoying a cookout, a sporting event, and other everyday activities. It’s my new favorite commercial.
They do look comfy and warm though.
I think they look comfie, but I can’t get past the name “Slanket.” It makes me think “skank” for some reason. 
I figure when my wife isn’t useing it, I can wear it on my back and pretend I’m a Jedi

I guess I don’t really see the appeal… isn’t it really just an oversized bathrobe? Or maybe a bathrobe put on backwards?
And I think that they look like they are made from acrylic fabrics-- like the kind that catch on dry skin and hangnails.
But I’m also in love with my comfy, flannel lined, terry-cloth robe. I hardly get out of it in the winter.
My girlfriend calls the Snuggie the Heaven’s Gate robe.
There’s no point to buying either of those until they figure out how to make footie pajama feet for them.
A couple of weeks ago, my son said he ordered me one, and I couldn’t understand what was taking so long Now I know. Thanks.

Mine, too! It’s like they are saying, “Hey, people in cults have fun, too! We really are just like the rest of you.”
As for wearing one, it doesn’t appeal to me.
Upon seeing an ad for one of these, I actually took my shoe off and hit myself over the head with it.
I already have a bathrobe and a trenchcoat. Aren’t those the original blanket with sleeves?
And you can go naked under a bathrobe! I couldn’t do that with one of these blankets without feeling like I’m defiling it.
I mean, people know damn well what horrors lie beneath my robe. Blankets just seem too innocuous.
I thought my Mom might like a snuggie for Christmas so I ordered one over a month ago. Last week I got a card in the mail saying that they could not keep up with the orders and if I wanted to cancel I should return the card. If I still wanted a snuggie, I should do nothing. But there was no estimate of delivery. I returned the card.
I don’t think she wanted one, anyway, Khadaji.
