Bleeding Gums Murphy

So what is it with this guy?? If he was SUCH a great Jazz musician why didn’t anyone but Lisa go to his funeral? I think if Lisa is the only one in the world that thinks he is a great musician something must be wrong with her judgement or knowledge of jazz. Opinions? Hijacks?

I am sofa king, we todded.

Because everyone else in Springfield is a musical cretin as is displayed many a time.

“I guess one person can make a difference, although most of the time they probably shouldn’t.”

Well this is just obvious Jophiel! No Doy!! But this man is just shown as the biggest jazz musician to die this century. But he had no fans other then Lisa? Just doesnt make sence… ohhhh what… oohhh what has happened to cartoons these days… :).

No, no. He wasn’t “great” as in greatly famous. His fifteen minutes added up to an appearance on the Steve Allen show and a guest spot as one of the many jazz-playing grandpas on the Cosby show. He could have climbed the celebrity ladder, but he blew the proceeds from his one album on his $1500-a-day habit (Faberge eggs). He still played well, but Lisa was his only fan, because she’s the only Springfieldian who recognizes talent without TV telling her what it is.

I guess I’m just better off living with my inner tensions.

and if he’s dead, why is he in the opening credits in every episode?

May I also remind you that Curtis Loew was the finest picker to ever play the blues, yet on the day old Curtis died nobody came to pray. Old preacher said some words and they chucked him in the clay.

Talent does not equal fame.

Oh, that’s an easy one…because “Jazz is crap.” It says so in over in the BBQ Pit, lol.

Because Springfield’s jazz station only had a range of 50 feet.
