Blondes really DO have more fun!

Well, at least this one does.

Got my hair re-blonded this past Friday (my last haircut left me with nothing but - {gasp!} - my natural hair color!), and boy, do I feel great! It’s amazing how a little cosmetic change can make you feel like you look so much better and, in turn, make you feel better about yourself.

Evidently others have noticed it, too. Saturday I had my official “welcome to the west coast” party and monthly Long Yang Club pot luck, and boy howdy was it fun! 35 people, waaay too much food, and cuties cuties cuties everywhere I turned - and rumor has it, quite a few thought the same of me!

Everybody at work has made nice comments about the new 'doo, plus they all said they missed me when I took the day off Friday to get ready for the party (and, of course, to get my hair done) - always nice to be missed, and nice to know I do a good job that’s appreciated (and if they could afford me, they’d have me for quite some time to come, but that’s their problem).

To top it all off, I went to Ralph’s supermarket for lunch, and if some hot little Asian lad didn’t cruise me up and down. If I hadn’t been running late back to the office…

Have I mentioned how much I love southern California?

Esprix

As a fellow bottle blonde, I hear ya! I bleached my hair then dyed it flaming red, and when I bleached out the red, I decided to stay blonde. Course, I also cut off a good six inches or so too, so it was a total new look.

You know, you bitch about something, and everyone’s all over you about it. You brag, and everyone lets your thread die like a thirsty man in the desert. Sometimes you people…

Esprix

I’m just jealous.

You managed to escape from the 99% Asian-boy-free wilderness of Pennsylvania and I’m still stuck here.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I visited San Diego once, to see a dear, dear lezbeen friend and her lover. God, I miss that place…

jayjay (who has not the body to live in Cali anyway (leastways, not gay Cali))

Esprix, I think you could probably have fun anywhere!

You just seem like that kind of guy.

That’s a good thing.

I envy that in a person.

[sub]Crap. Where’s that Seven Deadly Sins thread? I gotta admit to another one…[/sub]

I did a blonde experiment a few years ago.

I’ve always had black hair, and I wondered how much that led to people’s belief that I’m bitchy and hostile. This always came from people who didn’t know me, generally in a work or school setting.

I bleached out my hair and went blonde.

Christ. I had frat boys complimenting me. People were saying how much nicer and friendlier I was. People would come up and talk to me for no reason. It was creepy.

I dyed my hair back and again became the bitch that all knew and reviled. Not once did I act any differently. Blondes not only have more fun, they are often treated better and thought of more positively.

<looks in the mirror on his computer>

Yup… still quite blonde.

Never noticed that I had any more fun or was treated any better for it. ((Maybe if I go to Japan.)) As a matter of fact I’d trade my thinning blonde hair for some nice thick dark hair anyday.

Oh well. Glad the blonde thing’s working for you Esprix.

Agreed.
But I thought you were a natural blonde??

Only his hairdresser knows for sure…

Be serious. I thought a LOT of guys knew for sure;)

A suicidal blonde, eh?

Dyed by your own hand…

:: Ralf ducks and runs ::

Depends on how ‘thorough’ he was now doesn’t it?

Ah, that’s better…

Rasa, gotta keep 'em guessing, even if it’s only your hair color. (Just blonde for me, though.)

jayjay, there are Asian boys in Pennsylvania - you just have to know where to find them (and I did), but I will grant you there are many, many more here. And southern California has more “types” than you know, dear heart - you’d find a place here, I’m sure.

Arden, you got me there. When I go places and people say, “Have a good time,” my standard response is, “Honey, I’m my own good time!” usually accompanied by a snap.

Hastur, 'tis true, I’m afraid, but I’m using it to my advantage. Besides, I prefer my men dark-haired, and they seem to prefer blondes, so it works out for the best, n’est-ce pas?

vanilla, Jonathan and ralf, as my hairdresser said, “If anyone asks you if it’s natural, tell them it is - you naturally wanted it and you naturally paid for it.” Good enough for me!

Frankly, we all know that I’m not coloring my hair, I’m correcting God’s mistake - truly, I’m a blond with the wrong hair color, but I’ve come out! I celebrate my blondness! Blond Pride! Woo hoo!

Esprix

See, I’m blonde and I’m not even cool enough to get a reply… <sigh>

Blondes get more respect my *ss.

Holy crap! THE hottest guy I ever dated just called me - he just moved to LA! Young, single, Columbian and lonely - hot damn!

ROAD TRIP! Woo hoo!

Esprix

There you go. Having fun again.

Braggart!

starts fanning self

Whew…is it warm in here?

Or is it just the thought of Esprix and a young Latin man that’s raising the temperature?

 Enjoy yourself!

jayjay (always happy to see a fella fella get a-head…)

Eyebrows always tell the natural hair of the person. I always look at them to know whos got real blond hair.

My original hair color was very dark brown. As my roots have gotten grayer, my dye has gotten lighter.

Last weekend I decided to just go for it and bleached my now shoulder lenght hair very light blond. Well not all the red came out so it’s sort of a strawberry blond, but still very light. I ran into my aunt today in a store. I made eye contact and nodded and she looked at me but she didn’t see me. It wasn’t until I said “you don’t know me?” till she realized who I was. I don’t know if blonds have more fun yet, but I’m amazed by how many people I know don’t seem to recognize me now that I’m just a few shades lighter. I went through every color of brown and red and remained recognizable now it’s like I’m wearing a disguise. This could be fun after all.

BTW you go Esprix. I think you’d be cute no matter what color your hair is.

I once did some research into which women actually have the most fun. Blondes do have a lot of fun but are surpassed by semi-nude women and nude women, the latter having the most fun. Also of interest was that bald women have the least amount of fun, a la Sinead O’Conner and that woman from Star Trek 1. I’m pretty sure neither of them has ever laughed. I’m in the middle of a 2 year study on the fun factor of women with blue, purple, pink and green hair. And it looks like blue and pink do have lots of fun perhaps even more the blondes but we’ll see.
