Is it true blondes have more fun?

I’ve never been blonde and have no intention of being one, but I was just curious . . .

I had a whole lot more fun as a redhead than when I was blonde (natural blonde, dyed my hair red when I was 15, and it’s still red today–almost 25 years later).

However, I haven’t been having much fun lately. Mebbe I should go blonde again…nah.

I grew up blonde for most of my life, as I got older my hair naturally turned reddish. I guess I am a strawberry blonde now and I am still waiting for my fun.

I’m a blonde and although I was relatively attractive in school, I never attracted hordes of admiring guys. However, I was on the receiving end of a lot of “You just think you’re so great because you’re blonde” crap from bitchy brunette girls. Maybe that’s why I’m a bit touchy about blonde jokes nowadays.

Well, I’m having tons of fun lately. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with me being blonde though…

On the other hand, my sister is a brunette and I’ve always had more fun than her. Like now, for instance. I get to do whatever I want, whenever I want and she’s stuck at home with her 6 month old daughter.

sigh Ok, so maybe I have more fun, but the fun she has is more fulfilling.

“Ask yourself whether you are happy, and you will cease to be so.” --John Stuart Mill. So true, so true.

I think it’s true that a girl might start having more fun once she changes her hair to blonde. It’s as though the new look gives you a shot at a new personality, too, and you let yourself step out of your comfort zone a little. I know that’s true for me whenever I dye my hair red. I’m sassier, don’t put up with as much crap from people, and I even walk differently. As a brunette, I’m quieter and let myself fade a little into the background. I can’t figure out if I change my mood to match my hair, or my hair to match my mood, but they seem to go together.

I’d try blonde, just to add to the experiment, but I would look really horrible as a blonde.

Somehow I always picture Eve as a chic blonde. What is your hair colour, Eve?

A nice deep chocolate brown, with a few distinguished silver threads.

Well, I used to think blondes had more fun, but now I dunno----my SO prefers brunettes, and it has taken months to get him used to my blonde hair color (and my absolutely white skin). I wanted him to agree with me that Michelle Pfeiffer (as in The Fabulous Baker Boys) is far more luscious than Ashley Judd (as in Simon Birch), but I don’t think he’s quite THERE yet.

I am going white at the temples at this point, and have a splash of greyish-white around the crown of my head…if he waits around long enough, I’ll have a halo of brilliant white hair like my grandmother’s, and the blondeness will all be a thing of the past.

But during college days—I dunno, was it the blondeness or the big boobs which kept 'em coming around? I’m kind of doubting hair color had a lot to do with it…

NOW it all makes sense! And I was blaming it on being alternately introverted and not really interested in the human race.

:smack: gigi of the white and light brown hair

No, they’re just more easily amused.

heh
I resemble that remark, Miller.
I was a towhead as a preschooler, regular blonde by junior high, am dark golden now with Eve’s silver threads.
There definitely has been scrutiny–not sure about the more fun part.
I remember being asked “are you a natural blonde?” before I actually knew what that really meant. I was just a little kid.
Like Teela, I received a few snarky comments. If I ever did have extra fun, I think it was balanced out by all the critical questions and remarks.
