Amazons are problematic. AG3 + dodge is neat, and statistically it’s even better than AG4… until you run into a Dwarf team. And with that 7 Armour on everyone… Never seen Amas amount to much in the long term in the big leagues I played in. FWIW, Norse teams face the same problem. They’re fragile teams who don’t enjoy the same level of player skill than Elves, or the speed of Skaven, or the cheapness of Skinks.
Anyhoo, how the AI ? Did they tweak stuff in this department, or is it still one dumb-as-a-brick AI fits all ?
Amazons rock at low TV - 4 starting Blodgers (who can get Guard/Stand Firm/Mighty Blow on normal skill rolls), Dodge on everyone is as good as Block for avoiding hits and they’re a bashy team that can still move the ball on offense. But they do have a problem with Dwarfs. And at higher TVs, once opponents start to load up with Tackle and Mighty Blow, they tend to end up too weak to fight and too slow to run away.
Thing is…it is easy to start with a good Amazon team and 4 RR’s. Dwarfs always suck but I think Amazon could hold up to them. However, as noted above, at higher TV’s they probably start to fade.
I tried a few games vs AI and it seems to be a little better and it chooses skills MUCH better…but be honest here…ALL AI sucks that is not twitch/realtime based.
