Bogart?

How did the term “bogart” come to mean “monopolize”? Any connection to Bogart the film actor?

Far as I know, stoners started it. Humphrey Bogart always had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, but never seemed to be smoking it. When smoking something other than tobacco, sitting around with the cigarette in your mouth, and not smoking it, is frowned upon. Hence, don’t bogart that joint.

I’m not saying this is the origin per se, just that we know the usage goes back at least this far…
