This is pretty awesome.
More cow bell!
No, really, that is 7 shades of awesome.
He must play with himself a lot.
I asked my son, “Can you imagine how much time he spent composing, playing and editing? I wonder why?” And he answered, “Cuz it’s fuckin’ awesome!”
Stop fiddling around with Queen!
Your son said ‘fuckin’ awesome’ to you?
Jesus, my mom still gives me a death glare if I say ‘frick’ in her presence.
I almost made an aside to explain that I am a foul-mouthed woman and my kids do NOT take after me in that respect. But they are both 24 years old and don’t have any fear of calling something ‘fuckin’ awesome’ if they think it is.
But then I thought it might sidetrack the thread and didn’t post it.
I thought this when I first watched the vid but didn’t want to say anything negative, however I do think it would be better done by a string quartet with a cello to add some bottom presense.
The F word is my son’s favorite noun. And adjective. And expletive.
We have to have practice sessions before any grandparents visit.
“The word FUCK is as much fun to say as it is to do.” – Dennis Miller (pre-Dark Side)
Probably not that much time. The music is available. It’s not that complicated a piece, and the kid sounds fairly competent, although not as awesome as I would want to sound before allowing my violin-playing to be plastered over the internet.
I’ll see your 4-channel violins (which is totally cool!) and raise you one ukulele.
That was awesome.
Those guys look like they put on a fun show.
I am directing this strictly to you, Oslo Ostragoth, just to let you know you gave this ol’ rocker one wonderful present for his birthday!
THANK YOU!
As a musician myself (drummer mainly and guitarist and singer wannabe), I am CONSTANTLY looking for new music to move me, and you just provided that with this post!
I listened and watched all the videos played by Mr. Edmonds and they all brought tears to my eyes as I watched and listened to this very talented young man!
Sometimes music will do this to a person, and I am sure I am not the only one who gets emotional at the sound of such a beautiful violin and the intensity with which it is played.
Thanks once again for making this possible for me to experience!

Jake Shimbukuro is a master uke player - which I kinda didn’t even know was a category that existed. He’s played with Yo-Yo Ma and many other top-shelf musiciains. His stuff on youtube is outta this world…
Glad you enjoyed it - discovering stuff like that is one reason I love the SDMB.
Thanks!
I’m not sure if I want this or the tuba’s played at my funeral.
