Bondage - Romantic Comedy - Movie

As has been pointed out already, it was neither funny nor romantic, and what’s more there wasn’t a lot of bondage in it. I wrote a review of Exit to Eden, it’s definitely NSFW, but here’s the link ready for cutting and pasting:

So, not funny, not romantic, not bondage-y, I’m not sure exactly what “Exit to Eden” was. Probably belongs in the “Pathetic failure” genre.

An alternative mainstream bondage romantic comedy is The Linguini Incident. Rosanna Arquette plays a waitress who wants to be an escape artist. She is not particularly good at escaping. Spends an awful lot of time tied up, cuffed, confined in a duffel bag, etc., trying to escape. The movie never acknowledge the bondage subtext, but it’s there. I mean, she spends a night in bed cuffed to David Bowie when their characters first meet. True, they spend the night really, actually sleeping, but I’d call that an indicator.

Or “Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down”. Some romance and bondage there.

There’s also the long interlude in 9 to 5 where Jane Fonda hangs Dabney Coleman from the ceiling.

I consider ribcages and scarification among the unsexiest things in the world but damn if naked Maggie G didn’t make them work!
