Bones 11/12

Nailed it!
I loved this episode, the first one in a long time that was fast-paced, character driven, and well-rounded. Let me show it some hatelove:

-Damn, Emily Deschanel is beautiful. She looked gorgeous at the party. All three gals were at their comliest. When Angela introduced herself to Boothlite, I crushed a little on her dimples.

-Brendan Fehr: remove that mole, for the love of God.

-For a moment there, I forgot Sweets was a profiler. Way to get a cold reading, buddy.

-Cam’s known “the Booth boys” for 15 years"? Did they ever mention that they met in childhood before?

-Great plot with Bones showing how clueless she is about people, even those she is close to, and great acting overall by Emily and David. When he got angry at her in his office, I was wincing in empathy.

-Love for the shove.

-That toast at the end was like a public tattoo on your ass. Did you catch the stunned silence? I love Bones when she’s forthrightly, lovingly inappropriate.

-That last line by Booth was delivered perfectly.

I missed a few eps. When did Angela get herself a girlfriend?

Last episode, The Skull in the Sculpture. The sculptor’s assistant, Roxie, turned out to be her ex-girlfriend and it was implied this episode that they picked things up again.

I loved the shove too, it was a perfect ending to the well deserved chewing out.
Tempe looked great at the party. I didn’t like Angela’s hair, her bangs are too short now.
Um, Booth was drinking soda? I don’t recall him teetotalling before this episode.
How did a character on this show end up with a normal name like Jerry?

For the folks who usually have the last minute or two cut off by their Tivo or DVR, if you missed the coming attractions, YOU MUST SEE next weeks episode. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long, long time; it took me awhile to stop giggling.

I think he felt strange drinking while thinking about his alcoholic father and possibly alcoholic brother.

Pretty good episode. While I can see a meth lab exploding on impact, it took a while - will they really explode just from the gas?

Brendan sure has come a long way from his Roswell days. I’m still picturing him from Samurai Girl though.

While I can see Bones coming to the idea that lil Booth is more of a go getter, I didn’t buy her coming to the conclusion that that makes Booth a loser. The whole lil Booth getting stopped for a DUI by the same exact guy Booth had told off earlier also seemed a little contrived.

I did like the return of the original intern. Hope he sticks around. I wonder if they will try to bring Zack back again though.

Seriously. What are the odds that a Colonel or whatever he was was out there making traffic stops?

Don’t think he made the stop - more likely he was called (or just responded) when he heard who was involved in the accident (either as leverage or becuase at that point, Jared is a “high profile” person).

I like the fact that Jared’s ‘I’m in trouble’ message came during mid day - yet the car accident was clearly at night (or atleast Booth’s arrival there was clearly at nite).

It’s short for Jared, in this case. Not that odd, like Temperance and Seely.

One thing that really hurt the episode, imo, is how sloppy Booth was during the arrest of the bad sheriff.

[li]A shotgun was a really poor choice in a potential hostage situation.[/li][li]He stopped to banter with an armed man standing next to a hostage, instead of, you know, arresting him. [/li][li]He looked away from the guy before disarming him.[/li][li]He allowed Bones to take his other weapon.[/li][li]On and on…in real life, he’d have gotten that girl killed, at a minimum.[/li][/ul]

Booth is better than that.

Was I the only one who remembered the “Daddy Drank” skit from Kids in the Hall with Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald when Booth said his last line? I know, I’m going to hell…

I like Sweets more every episode. They make fun of him and disrespect him, but he’s damned competent at what he does.

And Temperance getting mad and shoving Jared was hysterical. (I didn’t really buy her thinking Booth was a loser, though. She knows better.)

I think he usually is, but he was supposed to be a hot mess this episode because of all the feelings he was reliving. Remember, this is the same guy that shot a clown.
