I had no right finishing as high as 7th. I should have finished 11th. I went all in on a bluff against Oslo. I had AJo and he had 88 and the board was something like 2359 so I guess technically I had a straight draw. So I went all-in and he called me. Dumb play by me, but I got lucky, J on the river. I would’ve felt worse if it wasn’t for the fact that it made only a slight dent in OOs stack and the fact that he got AA on one of the next hands.

Good game, it seemed to go very fast. Nice showing by the new guy.

Mental Note:

Gangster Octopus will go all-in with nothing.

He’ll also go all-in with something, that sneaky bastard.

I went all-in with a king-high flush, for all the good it did me. And I’d probably do it again.

That hand still stings. On that hand, and the one I busted out on, I was all-in at the turn with the best hand. So, it was the right play, but it turned out wrong.

And ditto on the congrats to the new guy.

By the way, if anyone is not following the other poker thread, here is the latest development. Full Tilt has Mac software and private tournaments available, but I don’t yet know if there is any cost associated with setting one up. I’ll post there when I find out.

Hmm, is it possible to have the best hand at the turn, but with a less than 50% chance that you’ll still have the best hand after the river?

And whoever called you may have made the right play, too; depending on the pot odds and the number of outs they had.

I think I’d rather make the right play and lose to luck than to make a bad play and feel like an idiot. I’d still like opinions on the hand I went out on; was I stupid to go all-in?

Still doesn’t beat me getting raped by quad bullets two weeks ago (the previous tourn) and then getting a 1-2 gangbang combo of quad Tens and a higher full house last night.

22.7

:frowning:

I ran my hand through Poker Stove (a nice, easy standalone odds calculator): after the turn I was 77% to win. GO’s 10 outs is 3.6:1, so that sounds right.

Do you recall the hand you went out on?

Not exactly. I had K-5 of diamonds. The board was no pair, no straight draw (I think), two diamonds on the flop and one on the river.

Sorry I’ve missed the past two weeks… last week I was sick, and yesterday I was on a date.

I’ve alread missed my chance to defend my title (slash beginner’s luck) from two weeks ago, but I’ll be back soon, putting my hard-won profit back on the line.

Thursday bump.

This is the week that the bottom 3 in the standings make their move. I predict a victory for Yeti.

If you’ll pardon the intrusion by an auslander, I wanted to invite y’all, if you haven’t been following the other poker thread, to a tournament Friday night at 9:00 PM EST. It’ll be a $5+.50 NL holdem tournament, maximum 30 players, on the Poker Room/Hollywood Poker network. I’ll be hosting so look under Private Tourneys for Otto93. The password will be DOPE. Hope to see you there!

Looking forward to tonight…I hope I can make another strong showing and stay out of the bottom ranks :stuck_out_tongue:

Seems to be a version update…so log in early.

I fully intend to river the living snot out of you. Well, actually, I’m more likely to cravenly fold to your hilariously aggressive postflop play…

Auslander? You were part of the very first of our tournaments.

In finding that old thread, I’m reminded that our anniversary has arrived. Another excuse to drink!
