Update on Friday’s tournament: ArchitectChore went ahead and set up the tourney so it’ll be under his ID, JackShidt. Everything else the same.

Well, I just got savagely owned… was down a bit, had A6 suited, made the nut flush on the turn, bet heavily, got called, the board paired, I was pot committed, lost to quads. Oh well.

Well allow me to completely recreate the hand:

I had 33 in the BB and apparently you had A6 clubs in the SB (blinds 5/10).

Preflop: all others fold, you bet 15, I call

The flop: 3h7c8c
Check, 60, call

The turn:
Qc
Check, 180, 360, call

The river:
3s
300, 1035 All-in, 400 All-in Call

The key, of course, was the turn. It only cost me 180 to stay in the hand and even though I was sure you had the flush I knew if I could pair the board I could take a big pot.

Yeah… if I know you have a set, the right play is for me to bet a ton and get you to fold then. But you could easily have top pair, an overpair, a worse flush, or what have you.
