Yes, again. I’m still having trouble.
I was looking for a post titled “Floored” and started, I’m pretty sure, by Eve, about quick and dirty (or hopefully, not even dirty–just quick) ways to finish a wood floor. I searched thread titles only, all forums and . . .
I didn’t get it.
However, in the five posts that did show up, I got “If LOtR had been written by…” or something like that.
Okay, why? What am I doing wrong here?
(I also failed to find my previous post on this subject, which is why I started a new thread.)
Here you go. The word “Floored” did not actually appear in the thread itself, which is why your search failed. It was, however, Threadspotted, and the Threadspotting description contained that word, which is probably why you were thinking of it. In fact, that’s how I found it, by going through the Threadspotting archive.
The Lord of the Rings thread is one of the monsters of the board, being probably longer (in word count, at least) than any other thread, and it’s (deliberately, of course) written in many different styles, so it’s not surprising to see any given random word show up in it.
I thankyou, and my wood floors thank you. Well, okay, the floors didn’t actually say anything, they just creaked.
I sort of figured out how, searching for “Floored” only in thread titles I still ended up with the monster Lord of the Rings thing. “If Lord of the Rings had . . .”
“Floored” = “fLord.” That doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it’s all I can figure out.
I think that “search titles only” includes titles of posts, as well as threads. So somewhere in that monster thread, there’s apparently a post with “floored” in the title.
But I ain’t going lookin’ for it.
