Denny Crane gives “The Secret” a try…with hilarious results!

Who is the exact opposite of Raquel Welch?

Great episode.

I’d started a thread on this, but it must have sunk away.
Oh well. I look forward to watching my tape of this show.

I looked for a thread because I know you usually start one vivalostwages…are we the only 2 Dopers who watch this show??

Nope but what’s to say except more love? Each show makes me want to sit in a room with the writers for a few hours - seems like that’s one very bright, interesting group of folks.

Oh, I did hate that whatsis agreed to marry Brad. I could never stand him and would have preferred that he be the one to walk off into the sunset and the kid belong to the other guy (names have zinged right out of my post-lunch snoozy brain). The ‘you know you really love me’ schtick has been overdone; I was hoping she’d tell him to take off and mean it.

Will watch my tape as soon as I can! I know there are more viewers of this show than just a few of us. Where are they?

I only watched the last 15 minutes or so.

Brad and Denise are getting married? Do they think they’re in love? I’m skeptical.

What’s up with Claire and Clarence? She’s acting more and more like his mother, or big sister, not like a girlfriend. This is going to end badly.

Claire was having some issues with seeing Clarence/Clavant with an escort.
I don’t totally buy Brad and Denise in love either.

I liked seeing Frank Whaley on the show.

Phyllis Diller----wha ha ha ha ha ha!! And that look of shock that remained on Denny’s face…priceless.

I’m a night or two behind on most of my TV-watching nowadays, especially stuff that finishes after my bed-time with my new job, so I’ve been missing out on a lot of these threads. I wasn’t especially thrilled with this episode… but the best part of this show, of course, is that regardless of what happens in the episode itself, there are a few minutes of delicious balcony time at the end.

“Not like us, we’re… strong.”
“Strong.”
“That’s what makes us… who we are.”
“Kings.”
“Masters of our domain.”
“… alone.”

The “Secret” and the payoff was by far the best part of this episode. Great joke and well played.

NitPick: Denny Crane is not old enough to have been in WWII, Shatner himself was only 14 in 1945. A minor continuity break, but I did notice it immediately.
