Boston Legal 5/29

Alan and Denny have some differences when they defend two brothers accused of killing an abusive father.

Season finale.

Denny Crane!

bump

one more time

I thought it was a pretty decent episode really.

Opinion question:

Will Denny Crane ever lose?

I figure it’d be a pretty great way to end the series.

Good idea.
It seemed more like a regular ep. to me than a sweeps or finale, for some reason, but I liked it.

Well phooey! For some reason, my DVR didn’t record it. Or my husband accidentally deleted it.

Did I miss anything crucial? Does it look like all the characters will be back next season?

It was a pretty blah episode. The side story with the casino, seemed like silly filler and made no sense at all. The primary story was missing the compelling factor that I expect in most of these shows. Seems like the writers took it easy this week.

I missed the very end of the show, anything good out on the balcony?

Denny asks Andy if it bothers him that they subborned perjury. Andy says Not at all, since he thinks the boys really are innocent. (Note: I say they aren’t, and it will come out somehow next season.)

Mostly more male bonding – Andy tells Denny he did good, they agree on a sleepover, ask each other if it’s strange for ‘two hetero men’ to have sleepovers, agree they don’t care. Vow their friendship is forever between ‘two flamingos.’

And then they do some winking at the audience. Like, Spade says “I can’t wait to see what we do next season.”

Nothing critical, but fun like all the balcony scenes seem to be.

Did anybody else wonder if that ‘not wanting to be done’ remark was part Shatner?
And did you catch the crack about once being captain of a space ship?

I watched last night, although I don’t normally watch the show. Antics like those of Christian Clemenson’s character are the chief reason why I avoid David E. Kelley’s shows.

But I watched last night, and so have to ask: is it always awash in hoyay?

I think that was part Shatner but I missed the Starship Reference, when was that?

What is Hoyay?

Last night was not a very good episode. Some this season have been great.

ETA: I looked it up, Hoyoy *is online slang meaning “Homoeroticism, Yay.” *
I did not think there was a lot, so I guess about normal for the show. Strange question.

Do you now something we don’t? It was the season finale, not the series finale, right? RIGHT!?

Is Jerry’s affliction typical of Aspergers? It seems to be more of Tourette. I hgave a student diagnosed with AS and she doesn’t have any vocal tics at all.

No, the series is still on; no word to the contrary.

The second time they ran the reporter gauntlet; Denny said something like “I was captain of my own spaceship!”

Good ep, not season finale quality, but definitely up to BL standards.

Loved the “Here’s to next season, can’t wait to see what we do next!” line.

And I agree that we haven’t seen the last of the pseudo-Menendez brothers.
